Chapter Thirty-Nine

Lucianne straightened her back. The students beside her were still firing question after question at her. They wanted to know the dirty details she had, but had nothing to do with the drawback that came with it. Well, let them wonder.

She turned on her heels, making a beeline for the only place she knew she could find more clues at.

Gabriel's mansion.

When she reached the front doors, she took hold of the handle to shake it, but it was locked. She screamed curses at it, her frustration overflowing from her emotions.

What the fuck was wrong with this town?!

She bent down to the ground and picked a huge rock from it. Then she raised her hand with the rock high above her head before she brought it heavily down on the lock.

It shuddered, but did not break.

She continued raining down blow after blow at the lock, until it split apart and fell to the ground in pieces. Picking it apart, she threw the door to his mansion open and sped up the staircase.

Reaching his room, she burst into it, expecting to see Gabriel looking at her with confusion or surprise but thankfully, he wasn't there. Great for her. What she wanted to do could only be done in his absence.

She sped to his third drawer and pulled it open. The drawer fell to the ground before it, the contents spilling out to the ground. Sheets of music scores spread across the carpet.

The red carpet. Red like blood. Against the pale white of the music scores. Like blood against pale white skin. Like death. Bleeding out. A bloody death.

She picked the music scores up in her hands, scanning it as quickly as she could. It was composition after composition of haunting melodies, exactly the kind she liked. She felt like he was in her head! Like he could read every fucking thing in it!

She tore the music score after reading it and the pieces of paper floated towards the ground. Tossing around more music scores, she picked more of them up to read through them.

Then she found what she was looking for.

In the music score that she was holding… the last key. The last note was for a piano key at the extreme end of it.

Fuck yes!
