Chapter 20

Bounce! BANG!

Theo and the gang walked into the basket ball court.

"So big?" Theo was secretly mesmerized.

Back in his former world, the basket basket court wasn't even half the size of the one he was currently seeing.

It was like he was in a huge football stadium.

"This is the throw ball court" Bajir introduced.

"Throwball?" Theo had a weird expression.

  Wasn't this a basketball court?

"Throwball is a famous sport. Globally, it ranks at fifth place. When playing throwball, we are allowed to harness mana. Like what they are doing right now" Randi pointed at a section in the 'throwball court' where six male students were playing among themselves.

Three had blue bandana on their head, while the remaining three wore red bandanna.

A blue team player got surrounded by wind type mana and sped towards a red team member, holding the ball.

  Whoosh!

He snatched the ball and sped towards the throwball hoop.

Just as he wanted to make a dunk--

BOOM!

A burly red team player smashed the blue team player away with his macho build. The ball coincedentially skidded towards  another lean red team member.

The red team player grabbed the ball, swinging it towards the hoop.

  A perfect shot.

"That's throwball for you" Randi grinned.

"Nice sport" Theo forced out a fake smile.

Throwball? this was a cheap imitation of basketball.

"Wanna try it?" Balogun was already walking towards an occupied section in the court

Balogun opened a locker and brought out two red and blue bandanas each.

He wore the red bandana and gave the remaining one to Theo.

As for Randi and Kamado made up for the blue team. Bajir volunteered to act as referee.

  "Begin!" he blew the whistle.

"I won't go easy on you bro" Kamado laughed, obviously referring to Theo.

He attempted to race towards the hoop using his pure speed. Unfortunately, Balogun blocked his way at the last moment.

"Hmph" Balogun right arm became encased in a rocky layer.

  "Rock arm!"

He elbowed Kamado and successfully took the ball from him.

He raced towards the hoop and threw the ball in.

Red team: 1 Blue team: 0

"Dammit man! what were you thinking?" Randi yelled.

"I was just careless" Kamado's whole body became lit in roaring flames.

  "Fiery Body!"

He grabbed the ball and threw it towards Randi, who caught it.

"Wind steps"  he became a blur and appeared a few metres away in an instant.

Theo just happened to be blocking his way. Behind him ten metres away was the hoop.

Randi decided to ignore him and perform a dunk shot. Just as he leapt into the air, a strong arm slapped the ball out of his grip.

"What?!" surprise gripped him as he stared at the culprit.

Theo grinned and threw the ball into the hoop without much effort.

  Another win!

"I underestimated you" the gaze with which Randi looked at Theo became solemn.

Not just him, even the rest of the gang. They never expected a newbie to possess such a strength.

Although throwball was a sport, it was kind of a way to measure one's strength.

Randi was a level seven novice rank mage. For Theo to be able to slap the ball away from his tight grip without muc effort, he had to be at the seventh or even eighth level.

Naturally, they were shocked by this discovery.

The throwball game continued. To avoid suspicions, Theo used just pure strength and speed belonging to an eighth level novice rank mage. Although he had many magic principles in his arsenal, he could only use illusion principles.

He didn't have any magic skills for the others. Another reason was that, he had a feeling if he exposed his illusion principles, it would land him in serious problem.

Although he exceeded his peers when it came to strength, he didn't grow complacent.

He was well aware that there were other big shots countless times powerful than him.

Perhaps in their sight, he was just an ant.

But even after revealing a little bit of his strength, he became an overlord of the game.

In the span of just five minutes, he already had seven shots to his name. Naturally, this attracted a lot of attention.

  "Who's this kid?"

"He seems to be that newbie who disrespected tyrant Dormani"

"Gosh. He's so fast. He hasn't even used magic power"

  "Maybe he's using fiend magic?"

"Baka! people using fiend magic are always macho. Does he looks like one to you?"

  The students discussed among themselves. However me tgng was certain;

They were in awe at Theo's display of strength.

Just at that moment, Judy and Becky walked into the throwball court.

"What's happening?" Judy noticed the commotion.

Becky looked over and saw a dense amount of crowd concentrated around a particular section of the game.

"Maybe they are just watching a throwball game" Becky shrugged.

She didn't have any interest in watching this kind of game. If it wasn't for Judy, she wouldn't even be here.

"I'm curious. Just what kind of game would garner such attention?"

Becky noticed the curious expression on Judy's face.

"You want to have a look?"

Judy nodded. Becky shrugged and wheeled her towards the mammoth crowd. She found a comfortable place where they could view the game clearly.

'Isn't that guy the newbie who caused a ruckus at the cafe today?" Judy recognized Theo instantly.

She noticed his peerless display and many people recording him with their phone.

"I can't see through him" Becky who stood beside her whispered lightly.

  "Hm?" Judy thought she misheard.

"I really can't see through him" Becky confessed solemnly.

"Have you used your bloodline skill?"

"I tried. But i felt like i was sinking into a swamp. Like i was thrown into jelly"

Judy sucked in a deep breath. Becky's bloodline skill didn't work?

She was quite conversant with Becky's bloodline skill. How couldn't it work on this newbie?

"Have you tried using it on others?" Judy thought of a possibility.

However, Becky's answer disappointed her.

"I did. And it's still working. There are two things involved. It is either he's so strong that my bloodline skill can't work on him, or that he knows a skill that counters my bloodline skill. Either way, this newbie is not simple"

Theo just landed a shot when he received a notification from the system.

-[An inspect type bloodline skill has been used]

-[Inspect type bloodline skill has been successfully countered]

Due to the interruption, Kamado grabbed the opportunity to snatch the ball from Theo.

"Wind steps" he disappeared like a blur, appearing a few inches away from the hoop.

  Whoosh!

  A figure appeared before him.

  "So fast?" the crowd gasped.

Theo grinned and slapped the ball away from Kamado's grip.

He cought it and like a circus performer, did a side flip spin, tossing the ball towards the hoop.

  The fifteenth shot!

  BING! BING! BING!

The score board rang, signifying the end of the game.

The crowd gasped when they saw the results.

TEAM RED: 16 TEAM BLUE: 0!
