After rounding up the scores, only fifty participants got admitted into Cloudy Peach high school as bonafide grade one students.
Those who failed could only grumble, they couldn't go and slap the school authorities for not picking them, right?
As for those who passed, they rejoiced amongst themselves. Being a student of a second tier force was a huge honour to them and their families.
"Although i knew i would pass, but i never thought it would feel so surreal" Theo mumbled.
Not only did he pass, he also obtained a dragon expert's inheritance. It was no wonder they said good things comes in pair.
"Congratulations, you are now officially students of Cloudy Peach high school" a male junior instructor came over with smiles.
He had slick black hair and stern chin. His instructor name tag read..
One star Junior Instructor Luke.
"My name is Instructor Luke. I will be the one leading you all to the area where grade one students reside" Luke informed.
After saying this, he began to lead the way forward, heading towards the Bronze quarters.
As the newly admitted students took their leave off the examination ground, the audience exploded into cheers.
In ten to fifteen years time, these 'lucky' ones will grow into powerful big shots in the society.
They would later be able to brag about witnessing their gradual rise. Some brave ones even took pictures with their phones.
"Alright. Our exams has ended for today. On behalf of the school, i'd like to thank everyone who graced this event. It is much appreciated" Vice Principal Bekor spoke loudly.
Although he seemed to be offering polite thanks on the outside, he was indirectly asking the spectators to take their leave.
Naturally, the spectators read the meaning of Vice Principal Bekor's words. Bidding their fare wells, they took their leave.
Soon, only the three Vice Principals and some Instructors from Cloudy Peach high school remained.
Whoosh!
Vice Principal Bekor made a grabbing motion. The portal vanished from sight and a bead the size of a small sized irish potato flew into his grip.
The bead was glowing purple and had intricate runic symbols on it's outer most layer. It was a Portalis bead and the summoner of the previous custom made portal.
"Bekor. What are you trying to do?" Vice Principal Luke frowned, his eyes turning frosty.
"This portalis bead belongs to my Cloudy peach high school. Naturally, i am retrieving it" Vice Principal Bekor acted dumb.
"Is your school seeking a war?"
"Hear yourself Luke. War? we are not scared of that, afterall it's a common occurrence between both of our forces" Vice Principal Bekor was unbothered.
"Hmph. I hope you don't regret this later on" Vice Principal Luke snorted as he descending down the high table.
It was quite obvious that Cloudy Peach high school wanted to hoarde a up that expert's inheritance cave to themselves.
"I just hope you don't choke' he sneered inwardly as he left.
He had to quickly report this huge piece of news back to his colleagues at Drake Academy.
After Vice Principal Luke's departure, Vice Principal Bekor glanced at the remaining guest.
Strength wise, she was not his match, but when it came to status, the disparity between them was large.
Not only was the force behind her powerful than his own, some rumor mongers even claimed she was having an affair with the Principal of Red flower Academy; this was a man whose elder brother was a Duke!
"So?" Vice Principal Lela smiled lightly.
Cursing in his heart, Vice Principal Bekor forced a faux smile to appear on his lips.
"This matter is of grave importance, so i'll have to discuss it with my colleagues and my superior"
Naturally, the superior he referred to was the Principal.
"I understand. I just hope i am not inconveniencing you since i was shamelessly trying to be a guest here until your superior gives the final verdict"
"Sly witch" Vice Principal Bekor choked down these words.
"I hope you enjoy your stay here"
The servants quarter couldn't even be discussed in the same breath as the bronze quarter. Although the land area in the latter was larger, the building structure was worlds apart.
Back at the servants quarter, three people had to share a small congested room filled with mosquitos and bed bugs.
But the buildings in the bronze area was quite stylish. Theo even had the misconception that he entered a GRA level estate back in his former world.
Instructor Luke was quite the tour guide. As he led the freshmen, he didn't forget to explain and give them a rough outline of the bronze quarter.
"That is your training facility building. Only grade one students are allowed entry" Instructor Luke pointed at a four storeyed sky scrapper with flashy interior.
On it's flat carpet grass roof top was a banner depicting two axes crossed together.
It read;
Training Facility Building.
"You mean not even grade two students and above can gain entrance?" a girl with cute eyes asked.
Her name was June.
The other freshmen glanced towards Instructor. June asked the question that they were most worried about.
Instructor Luke smiled as he saw the freshmen who looked like they were on tenterhook.
"Wouldn't that be an over kill? to become a grade two student, you must be minimum a primary rank mage. Think about that"
The freshmen sighed in relief. That was great. As long as those seniors didn't come over to bully them.
Theo went with the flow as well. He decided to lie low for the time being. It wouldn't be too late to shock everyone later on.
With his current battle powress, he could squash any grade two student like a rosy tomato.
If they didn't come to bother him, he wouldn't bother them. That was his logic.
"That's your hostel block" Instructor Luke pointed towards a row of residential buildings. Most of them were three storied buildings, while a minority were bungalows.
Naturally, the freshmen noticed this oddity, but none spoke a word.
The group finally arrived at a huge building that looked like a plaza. At the entrance was a digital screen plaque that read..
DUTY HALL
Instructor Luke lead the group of freshmen into the hall and stopped at a counter by his left.
Behind the counter was a scrawny middle aged man with bags under his eyes. He spotted a bored expression as he furiously clicked on the keys of his computer.
"Zendrick. What did i ever say about getting a break, you might over work yourself to death one day" Instructor Luke frowned.
"Huh?" Zendrick tore his eyes off the computer screen briefly, then went back to work.
"You brought the freshmen i see. Though their number is quite pitiful. Are we really running out of capable recruits?"
"This time admission exam was a little bit special" Instructor Luke smiled wryly.
Theo froze in shock. What did he mean by that? was the school aware of the inheritance cave?
Then wouldn't the Academy authorities come looking for him in the future?
'No! I swept every clue left behind. Without the space ship, there would be no inheritance cave" he tried reassuring himself.
It would be best if they had no prior notice of the inheritance cave. But if they did, things might get tricky to deal with.
"Oh, tell me about it?" Zendrick stared at Inspector Luke.
"I don't know the full gist of it since my status is quite low to be privy of such information. But i don't even care about it anyways. If it's anything dangerous, we have our peak experts to hold up the forts" Inspector Luke was quite A pathic.
Zendrick nodded, sharing the same sentiment with his colleague. He brought out something from underneath the drawer and pointed it at the freshmen.
"Geez!" a majority of them shrieked as they took a step back in fright.
Because what Zendrick held towards them was a rather interesting object. It looked like a ray gun, except it's holes were narrower.
"What a bunch of cowards" Zendrick rolled his eyes and pulled the trigger.
A wave of red light shot out, sweeping over the fresh men. After scanning them, the red light vanished.
"Huh?" many of the freshmen were still muddlehead Ed.
Zendrick gave them quite the scare. They thought he was trying to murder them.
"Zendrick used a scan type armament on you lot. He's trying to get your measurement for your uniforms" Instructor Luke explained, while laughing.
"What a bastard. He could've just informed us in the first place. Tsk' Theo cussed inwardly.
"The uniforms will be ready in two days time. Uhm, have you assigned them to their rooms?"
"No. I was just going there"
With that, Instructor Luke began to distribute paper slips amongst the freshmen. On these slip of paper were the numbers of their rooms.
When Theo checked his paper slip and saw his room number, he pursed his lips.
"Number 3? what an auspicious number"
"Okay. Let me explain the rules. As you might have guessed, the bronze quarter is like a town. There are eateries, movie shops, game shops, virtual training games room, grocery shop, local market and many more. However, all these are not free"
"Secondly, your daily meal is sponsored by the Academy. So if you want to eat, go straight to the cafeteria building. You can't request a second round, that is why the eateries and groceries are there. You can fix yourselves your own meals.. from your own pocket that is"
"Third, attending classes is a must. Failure to do so results in a penalty"
"Fourth, there is a curfew after six pm. No student should be seen wandering out of their hostel blocks at that time or you'll face punishment. That's all there is to it"
"Sir" a hand shot up.
It was Theo.
"Yes?"
"Isn't fighting prohibited?"
"No. We encourage competition. However if you are caught overdoing it which results in the death of the other party, you will be punished SEVERELY"
