Moving Out

Exactly 7 in the morning, Liam turned up at our house. My mum knocked on my door and told me that he is waiting downstairs. I'm still asleep for god sake! "Yeah mum, I'll get ready."

"What?!?" My mum exclaimed, "You are not ready?! I told you he will be here early! Open the door and hurry up!" My mum rushed me but in my current state, I couldn't be bothered, really. I shut my eyes again, "Five more minutes, I'll get up." I murmured and went back to sleep.

"Summer! Summer! Are you ready now?" I can hear my mum again banging at my door and shouting my name. I grabbed my pillow and covered my head with it. The next thing I heard was the creaking sound of my door opening. I started kicking in my bed like a kid throwing a tantrum and complaining. "Mum please, let me shut my eyes for five more minutes. Just five more minutes."

And then…

"It's either you will get up now or I will drag you to the bathroom and wash you. I'm sure you don't want the latter one. We will catch the bus at half-past seven and if we don't, then you will fork out the fare for the taxi which will cost you £50." Liam spoke near my head, it almost sounded like a whisper.

Under the pillow, my eyes immediately went wide open. 'Why is he here? What is he doing here in my room?'

"One!"

'Goddammit!' My mind was panicking.

"Two!"

'Jeez! He's really counting. Is he serious about dragging and washing me?'

"Thre—"

I moved with urgency, "Alright, alright! I'm gonna get ready. Wait for me downstairs. I'll be there in 10." When I got up, he was looking at me with a smirk on his handsome face, "Oh, can you bring my luggage downstairs?" I added.

Still, with the smirk on his face, he replied, "Sure," and walked towards me and fixed my messy hair then whispered, "If you are not ready by quarter past, you know what's coming." He left carrying my luggage downstairs.

'What was that? A threat? Wait, was he like this? Is he really like this? What happened to my perfect Liam?' I glanced at the clock and it says 7:03 "Damn!" I rushed to the bathroom and had a quick shower. I got out at 7:11, "4 Minutes to get dressed, jeez." lucky for me, I prepared the clothes I'm gonna wear today last night. Barely making it at 15, I rushed down while trying to put my shoes on as I hopped. My hair wasn't done and still dripping at the ends. "I'm ready, let's go!"

Three of them looked at me, they seemed to be talking about something important but they stopped when I spoke. "Darling, your hair is dripping. Look at you, your shirt is getting wet. Comb your hair, you look like a madwoman."

My mum never spoke that way to me before, like never! What is wrong with her? Why are they even allowing me to go with Liam? Do they trust him more than me now? "I'm good mum, we're going. We have to catch the bus." I grabbed a toast from the table.

Dad spoke with a smile on his face, "I'm driving both of you there! I cannot possibly let my daughter go without knowing where she's going."

You should have seen my face, it was a total gobsmacked. I turned to Liam and squinted my eyes, 'You rushed me, scared me and threatened me! You watch, I'll get u back for this!' I balled my fist and clenched my teeth. I saw a smirk on his face that turned into an annoying smile. Yes, it's annoying because he looked so handsome when he smiles like that. This is not the time for falling for those smile of his.

We left at half-past seven and dad was driving, mum was next to him while Liam and I sat at the back seat. I'm really not in the mood to talk to him. I'm not over what he did earlier. My arms were crossed and I'm totally ignoring him.

The car stopped in front of a bungalow house, "We're here!" my dad announced.

Liam leads the way as he carried my luggage. He opened the front door and let us in. My mum and dad liked the interior of the house and asked how many students lives in the house.

"There are four bedrooms. These two in the left are for boys and the two in right are for girls. We will be sharing the living space and the kitchen. There are two bathrooms. One for the boys and the other for the girls. The caretaker comes every Saturday to check the house for maintenance." Liam explained and continued, "At the moment the house is full. Andy and I are occupying the boys' rooms while Kayla is on the girls' room. Now, Summer is here, so we're full."

He sounded like a real estate agent just now and I let out a chuckle which made my parents and Liam looked at me. Even with my little chuckle, my parents were satisfied with his clear explanation and entrusted me to him.

"Visit us sometimes, it's just an hour away from home. Be good." My mum hugged me tightly.

Dad joined in, "Don't be a pain in the butt, okay? We will visit you here often."
