Janet kept silent, neither admitting nor denying it.
Nigel sneered, "Mr. Webster, don't ask for trouble. If I were you, I would have been too ashamed to show my face after my words were proved wrong."
"Shut up! Janet, I want to hear you say it," Nathaniel growled, staring at Janet unhappily.
"What do you want me to say?"
Janet was cold. "I've said what I needed to say. Mr. Webster, please keep your distance from me."
This wasn't the first time she had said it, but Nathaniel felt greatly insecure.
It was because she had another man by her side!
She did not dodge Nigel's approach, but she was resistant to it.
Why didn't she listen to Nathaniel?
Nigel was not a good man!
"Janet, did a bunch of flowers just win your heart? If you want flowers, I can give them to you, too."
