Chapter 16 parmanent guest

As it was early in the morning, there weren't many students in the school. As she walked upstairs, Aria was anxious and nervous, knowing Ace's class was on the same floor. When she reached the top of the stairs, she slowly peeked out from behind a pillar, letting out a sigh of relief. "Phew," she whispered, happy to see that Ace wasn't around.

Last night, she had been nervous about today, after yesterday's gesture. She felt like her heart would drop or she would pass out if she saw him again. But she mustered her courage and came to school. "Thank God he isn't here," Aria hummed to herself, thinking she knew she wouldn't be able to last long.

Hours passed, and it was already lunchtime. Students walked out of their classrooms, chatting, gossiping, and laughing with their boyfriends, while others lunched in the canteen. Aria was one of them.

"Hey, guys, why are you so quiet?" Reyan asked, noticing that both Aria and Helena were quiet while eating.

"Oh, I was just thinking about the physics assignment we're going to submit tomorrow, and sincerely, I didn't get how to solve it," Helena said, sounding tired.

"Oh, let me help you with that. I've already done mine," Aria offered her help.

"Hmm, are you going to lend me your book so I can copy?" Helena guessed.

"Hmm, no, I'm going to teach you, but if you don't get it, then I can lend it to you," Aria replied.

"So, I won't be able to help you guys. I'm a science student," Reyan said.

"Oh, come on, you don't have to say sorry. We know you would be the first one to offer help if you were an art student," Helena said.

"Since he's a science student, I will be the only one who will help you, right, Aria?" Ace said, his deep voice drawing everyone's attention to him.

Aria turned her head and looked up at the person standing beside her. Ace dragged the seat on her right and sat down beside the girl he loved, speaking with a deep voice that commanded attention.

"And all this time, Aria was looking at him, and her heart beat like a drum. 'Isn't it?'" Ace asked again, bringing her back to the table they were sitting at.

"Eh," Aria stuttered, unsure of what to say, as all she could think about was him.

"Yes, I will be the one who will help you from now on, aren't I?" Ace asked again, looking deeply into Aria's eyes.

"I-I don't know," Aria said quickly, shooting her lips shut.

"Oh, I will make you know, then," Ace intentionally said with his deep voice, leaning close to Aria's ear as he said, "soon." He then looked up at her in the eye.

Aria felt chills all over her body. His breath falling on her ear made her throat dry, and she gulped hard.

Meanwhile, Helena and Reyan shared a look and both returned to eating their food, as the person in front of them seemed not to bother with them sitting on the seat. They behaved as if they were air.

"Hey, Reyan, right? And you, Helena, hope you don't mind me sitting here, do you?" Ace asked, sounding polite, as they were the first to be seated at the table. But to them, he was still the reputed bad boy, so the way he asked sounded somewhat dangerous.

"Sure, no problem," Helena said, trying to sound casual, but she felt intimidated by his presence.

While Reyan, on the other hand, kept his mouth shut. He was in the same year as Ace, but he didn't want to be on the bad boy's bad side, knowing that among all the bad boys in the school, Ace ranked number one – the evil one.

"Good," Ace said.

And after some minutes, Manson joined the table, making the people on the seat five in total, as they filled the seats.

While the lunchroom was now full of murmurs, the headline was that the reputed bad boy of the school had gotten new junior friends, and they were even lunching together. Wow.

At the entrance of the lunchroom, Marcel happily walked toward Aria's table. He planned to make the girl fall in love with him, as he hadn't gotten the time to spend together last week. He didn't know why on earth the principal had suddenly summoned him and given him some work to do. Why must it be him? He even started hating the principal.

But as he approached, his eyes narrowed upon seeing the one sitting beside Aria. He walked closer and saw Aria smiling at something, which made him even more irritated.
