The Hybrid's Decision

"Stop crying."

Jody and Rydel walk with the other weredragons towards the mountains. Rydel held Jody's arm as he helped her walk, almost pulling her because she didn't want to walk.

"I trust you, Brian." Jody's tears trembled. There was some pain in Jody's chest at that moment. She still can't believe that her first friend in school, whom she considers her best friend, betrayed her.

"You can still trust me; I'm your friend, Brian."

"You are not my friend," said Jody. "You're not Brian. Because of you? You are an impostor and a monster! You killed Zev!"

Rydel turned to his pack and asked the pack to leave them. "There should only be one alpha in Rivendell, Jody. And it's me."

"You? How could you? You don't have a heart," said Jody. "Do you know what you did to me? It's like you killed me because you betrayed me. I trust you! Then you are the one who wants to kill me?"
