Chapter thirty-two: Revenge

Somewhere in the city, a boy and a girl are seen walking around aimlessly when they suddenly bumped into an unexpected person who turned out to be Li Xian.

Li, what are you doing here? Tom asked Li Xian with a perplexed look. 

After their mission, Li Xian told everyone he would be going to China and won't be back for a long time.

I was taking a stroll around and also, I can no longer leave the country because every single transportation company has been shut down because of the new mutated monsters.

Then that means you can't abscond from school anymore, May told him with a chuckle.

I wasn't planning to abscond from school, I was just planning to visit my parent for a while and besides, I also think I should change my school, he replied to her.

Every continent had its magic school and military school, but some students still decided to leave their continent and go to other continents such as north and south America as well as Australia because of their high standard of teaching and efficient teaching methods.

Although all these were put in place to train people, some people couldn't attend these schools because of the cost of relocating to a new environment or buying a new house so, only the people living in countries closer to the magic school attended these schools.

Li, why don't we go around for a while before visiting Rick, Tom suggested.

It had been a while since they had seen Rick so, he was feeling worried and was not sure if he was in a good condition.

"Sure, "he responded before continuing "besides, it's not like I have something to do."

How about Emily, Rebecca, and Jackson, are they doing fine? May asked Li Xian.

She had never seen Li Xian without his teammates before so It was quite shocking when she saw him alone.

They decided to head back to school because they had to maintain their grades, he replied.

Anyway, why don't we go shopping and get some things for ourselves and Rick, Li Xian suggested.

That would be a great idea, May let out like a bomb that was about to explode.

Girls, Tom mumbled to himself after seeing her reaction before resuming their journey.

I can't believe I lost everything, including my father's support. I should have beaten him up back then, Paula grumbled angrily.

After losing the support of her father and her funds, life had become extremely unbearable for her. She no longer possessed the noble temperament that she once had but now looked vicious.

I have to get that katana back at all costs else, my life would become a living hell, mumbled as she began to make a call with her communication device.

"Ehem," who is this? A male voice at the other end asked after answering the call.

It's Paula, she replied before continuing. Ben, I need your help. Meet me at my house now, she told him.

How dare you command me like that! Ben shouted angrily from the other end. After hearing her order him.

In his entire clan, only the elders and his parents could order him around but now, a mere girl was trying to use him like a puppet.

I know you don't want to come, Rick is involved and I am sure you would be glad to know that Rick is about to live his last days, she replied to him.

Are you planning to kill Rick? Ben asked.

If she was planning to kill Rick, he would gladly tag along. Seeing Rick suffer and begging for his life had always been his dream and now that they were two, getting his revenge had become easier for him.

Yes, she replied. But, I need you to come to my house right away and don't bring anyone with you not even your servants, she warned him sternly.

If their plan to kill Rick got leaked out to the public, they would be in big trouble and might get executed which will spoil her reputation and reduce her chances of reconciling with her father.

Fine, I won't bring anyone along, he assured her before disconnecting the call.

I just hope he doesn't do anything stupid, Paula mumbled to herself after the call disconnected.
