Found more than a clue

"Why would he bring shredded papers upstairs just to dump it in the dustbin over here? It was not required to get them through the secret door, he could have thrashed it anywhere downstairs. Just to be safe, why don't we check what's written on them?"

They started to arrange those small pieces of paper one by one in order. When they finally united them in the correct way, the message displayed shocked everyone present in that room.

'I found our sister's location. I am going there to confirm if it was our sister. Do not worry, if she is really our sister then I will definitely bring her back. We will be a happy family once again.'

"Do you have a sister?" Jennifer asked.

"I have a sister-in-law!" Elina shouted in joy.

"Who is your sister-in-law? You are not even married to Aiden." Jennifer complained.

"But we already did that! You understand right, what I mean... So I am already half qualified as his wife."

"So what? It has become common now. There are many people out there who sleep together without being in any relationship. And that doesn't make them husband and wife. Grow up, Kiddo!"

"Ok! I think that's enough! STOP! You both," Jayden shouted.

"Sorry," They both replied at the same time and tried to concentrate on what was important right now.

"I think this is a trap. Someone found out that we were searching for our missing sister and made use of it to catch Aiden. Aiden even walked right into it even after knowing that it was a trap set by someone! That idiot!" Jayden said angrily.

"Who are you calling an idiot?" Elina went out for a fight.

"Obviously your half-husband, Aiden!" Jennifer smirked.

"What is wrong with you two? Aiden's life is in danger and you both are really delaying our time in rescuing him. I think you both need to stay back instead of joining me in rescuing Aiden."

"..." Jennifer and Elina went quiet thereafter.

"Look at this map, he had marked a few points. If my guess is correct, then in one of the islands nearby our adopted father lives. We need to meet him first. Then we will decide how to proceed further." Jayden said.

Jayden dialed Derek's phone number. Once the phone was picked as usual without letting him speak, he started to issue orders.

"Derek, arrange the private jet and schedule it to leave in an hour's time. I will have two passengers along with me. The destination will be my father's private island."

He immediately disconnected the call before Derek could say anything.

"I thought you would not bring us along with you. What made you change your mind?" Jennifer asked.

"Let us just say that it is time for you to meet my adopted father. We have been married for some time now and you never met your father-in-law yet. How rude of you to not show him any respect until now?" Jayden demanded.

"When did I say, I didn't want to meet him? Until now, You didn't even say that you have a father. It was your responsibility to tell me all about your family. How do you expect me to know anyone in your family? You even tried to hide from me that you have a twin brother. Now through these shredded papers, I came to know that you have a missing sister. In fact, I hardly know anything about you, forget about your family…" Jennifer reverted back.

"Then isn't it high time you start to find out more about me?"

"Hey love birds, I think my husband might be in some danger right now and we are definitely wasting our time here. We need to go now." Elina said as she was beaming with jealousy.

"Let's go Elina. Even you need to meet your future father-in-law and leave a good impression on him." Jennifer pulled Elina and went down.

Jayden followed them while picking up the map with a worried expression. He was sure that the people who captured Aiden were not someone to be trifled with. He already knows who they were and where he needs to go. He intentionally misguided Jennifer and Elina.

He would drop them at his father's place, before going off to rescue his brother. He climbed down the stairs while thinking of a plan. He cannot be careless even for a minute as Aiden's life was in line.

In the next forty-five minutes, they packed the necessary items for their trip and reached the airport. Once they boarded the flight, he asked Jennifer and Elina to take rest as it was almost way past midnight.

Jayden opened his laptop and started to hack the security systems. Using the satellite, he tried to locate Aiden's possible location. But all of a sudden he received an error and a message popped up.

'Stop trying to overuse your power, captain. It may backfire if you are not careful.'

From a secured channel the message came and just looking at it, he understood who sent that message. He replied back to the messenger,

'Ferus! You are back. It's nice to see you again.'

'Captain, I don't want you to interfere in this operation. I am onto something big here.'

'Ferus, you know, I cannot do that. You definitely can't use my brother as bait for your operation.'

'Caption, you cannot support a criminal even if he is your brother. I got some hints from the whistleblower that someone from golden poison contacted a person from your wife's college. But before I could find out who that person was they disappeared without any trace.'

'So is that why you were trying to get close with my wife?'

'No. Jenny is definitely an interesting character, I must say. But I can assure you that your wife is not the person I am into.'

'I know that! So who was that person that gang was trying to contact?'

'That's confidential, captain. I cannot reveal.'

'That's fine. It is not like I cannot find who it is. But let me be clear about one thing, I am going to rescue my brother. And if anyone dares, then come and stop me!'

Jayden disconnected the secured connection and shut his laptop with frustration. Alex, who also had a code name Ferus blinked his eyes once, as he could not believe what had just happened?

Is Jayden serious? If only he did not leave early to settle down with Melissa, he would be the captain now. Jayden is not bad but because of his brother, he acts unpredictably sometimes. At first, he did not know about his brother's existence.

Every time he would be very careful to hide his brother's track from the radar. But Alex found out during their last mission that there was a person who looked exactly like Jayden. As he retired early, he did not notify anyone in his team about this.

He thought Jayden did not notice that he knows about his little secret. But by the way, he interacted with him today, he definitely knew it from the start. Just that, because he did not do anything against him and he just let him be.

Did he really make a mistake by not reporting about Jayden's brother to the higher-ups? If he tells them now, will Jayden bury him alive? Once again, he tried to connect to the secured messenger but it showed Jayden went offline. He tried to connect several times but he never came back online again.

"What are you doing? Don't you want to rest?" Jennifer asked while standing behind Jayden.

"You are still awake? Not getting any sleep, my love?" Jayden asked with concern.

"It's not like I cannot sleep. But it is just that you are going to leave us on that island and take off right?"

"... So you know! How is she doing?"

"Elina slept long back. She is just like a kid. I am not sure if she really understands the danger by staying next to your brother. If it is possible, I will push her far away even from me too." Jennifer said while deep in thoughts.

"Why? What's wrong being with you?"

"I am a daughter of a gangster, who is always under the radar." She took a deep breath and asked, "Is the same gang involved in my parents' disappearance as well?"

"Maybe! But I would say there is a high possibility..."

"Then doesn't it make it even more necessary for me to come along with you. Do you even understand what I am trying to say? How you are trying your best to save your brother, I want to do the same for my family! Can you please let me go with you?"

"You do not have to say that word, please. just give me a kiss and I will be at your mercy." Jayden's words irritated Jennifer. So she stood up to leave that place.

"Fine, if you had already made up your mind. But remember, the place where we will be going, it might be related to your past. Are you ready to face it once again?" Jayden asked while looking at her eyes.

"I don't know if I am prepared or not but even if I have to go to hell to get my parents and your brother then I will do it. If it is actually that place, then don't you think I will be of more use as I have stayed there for a long time?"

"I don't want to use you for anything. All I want is for you to stay safe with my father along with Elina on that island. Don't you think Elina needs your protection? So, if you can stay back…"

"No! I am coming. I have been searching for news all these months about my parents. I even reached the council in that matter but they let me run around in circles instead. I won't back down until I see my parents with my own eyes. Aren't you one of the reasons my parents had disappeared?"
