TWENTY- TWO

Lucy had been out of business for more than a year because of the triplets and I wanted her to continue.

I tried convincing her but she didn't want to be away from them and Lucille. I assured her that I'll get the best babysitter and midwife for them and monitor them myself but she still didn't want to leave.

Lucille also began bugging her mom and boy was she persistent.

She bugged her everyday for two weeks till Lucy finally said yes.

We were over the moon when she said that.

Not long after Lucy resumed acting, she got several invitations for the great Lucy Stone to act, most of them were at different times but some were paired.

I helped Lucy to sort through the best ones.

George was eating breakfast when Brenda came to him and said,"You're fully recovered...I can take you home now."

He was filled with joy to hear those words and thanked her several times.

She got him in her car and started driving.

They had been on the road for several hours till they came upon a familiar sight; Aqua.

Brenda walked in first and said she needed to speak with me but security wouldn't allow, just then, someone said,"Let them in."

They looked back to see me.

George looked at me and I looked back at him, I smiled.

He was standing there yet I still didn't believe it.

Mark's dad is alive!

But after meeting my doppelganger, I had my suspicions and so conducted a D.N.A. test on him and it was a match.

I invited him to my office and said,"Mr Lester, it's such a pleasure for me to finally meet you... where have you been all this time?"

"I had been in a coma for all this time and missed the life and death of my only son."

I felt regret and pain hearing that but realized something then said,"I have to hand over Aqua bolt to you. I'll get everything ready and..."

He raised his hand for me to stop and said,"It is yours now, I know my son would not give it all to anyone who comes his way, only the best of the best."

That made my head grow big.

He then said,"I just want to see my family, my daughter in law and my granddaughters."

I smiled and said,"Of course, right away."

We walked into the elevator and eyes were staring at us on our way there, why not? George Lester had risen from the dead.

In the elevator, he asked,"Why did Marco adopt you? What happened to Gregory?"

I was silent for a while then spoke,"Both my parents died in a fire, five years ago."

"I'm sorry, I did a terrible thing..."

"What?"

The elevator door opened and we walked out as he said,"I wanted to divorce Marco's mother, despite him begging us to stay together. We only thought of ourselves and our pride, not of what was best for him...I deserved to go into that state."

"What? No, you didn't...life is just like that, full of regrets over things you can't control. But the best thing we can do is move on."

He chuckled then asked,"Do you miss him?"

I looked at him from across the car and a tear escaped my eye then I said,"I do, everyday, I cry everytime I think about it."

He nodded then got into the car.

I drove to Lucille's school and picked her up early then called Lucy to come back home.

Lucille had no idea who this man was.

When Lucy came back, he smiled and said,"You're even more beautiful than I could imagine."

Lucy smiled and said,"Thank you, but how can I help you?"

"I'm George Lester... Marco's father."

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lucy stared at him in shock, it took Lucille to break the silence, she called,"Grandpa?"

He looked at her and said,"You must be Lucille, my eldest granddaughter, I heard so much about you. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Lucille smiled and he took a deep breath and said,"You're just as beautiful as your mother."

Lucille played with her hair and said,"A sweet talker, I like him already."

We took him to see the triplets who were peacefully asleep and he cried when he saw them, especially Markella.

He said,"She looks exactly like him..."

We threw a party to celebrate his return and I introduced Rose to him. He stared at her in shock then looked at me and said,"Wow, she's gorgeous."

We showed Brenda our thanks at the party and gave her two million dollars, which she wanted to respectfully decline, but Grandpa George convinced her to take it.

Grandpa George loved being around Lucille and the triplets, he showered so much love upon them and Lucille loved him back.

And I thought I had found the perfect babysitter for them.

Grandpa George was really young when he got Mark, he was just nineteen, unlike my father, who was fifty- seven.

I was working from my laptop in my room when I got a call from Rose.

Her grandfather was dead...
