Father

-When Yukio entered the supply shop-

(Yukio): "Good day to you, madam."

(Miss Moriyama): "Why, a good day to you too, young Okumura-sensei."

I enter the supply shop after telling nii-san to stay put. He's been behaving rather well lately, but something tells me he's up to something. I better hurry up then.

I greet Miss Moriyama, a women with dark blue eyes and chocolate brown hair that she wears in a loose bun near the nape of her neck; she has a small red and gold hair pin adorning the right side of her head, and a large turquoise hair pin on the left side. She has pieces of her hair falling in front of her face and a large section of it, on the left side, is curled. She is a heavy-set woman who appears to be slightly taller than her daughter, Shiemi Moriyama. She's wearing a purple, floral-print kimono with a black sash around the waist, as well as a pale red shawl and traditional Japanese footwear

(Yukio): "I'll take two each of valeriana, hypericum, fern and horehound, as well as a litre of C-concentration holy water, 300 grams of powdered iron, and six dozen of my usual holy-silver bullet-jackets."

yesterday's mission and the goblin attack made me low on supplies, so I want to restock them and while I'm at it, get some stuff for the next pharmacology class.

(Miss Moriyama): "You're buying in bulk again, I see."

(Yukio): "I used up rather a lot yesterday. By the way, how is the young lady... Shiemi-san doing?"

(Miss Moriyama): "We're having a bit of a fight right now... She's not talking to me and her legs are getting worse by the day. I took her to the doctor, but they said that her bones, muscles, nerves... everything seems to be in perfect order. You exorcist are all I have to turn to."

Miss Moriyama briefs me of the situation. For her body to still be in perfect order yet she's unable to stand means that its the work of a low level demon.

(Yukio): "Can you think of any explanation as to how she might have come in contact with Demons?"

(Miss Moriyama): "... It started when her grandmother passed away..."

(Yukio): "I'll have to examine her legs before I make a proper judgement. I'm going to call my brother, I'll just be gone for a moment."

I leave the supply shop and look for Nii-san. Huh? He's gone! I look around but I can't find anywhere. Why do I have the feeling he wandered off to the garden?

(Miss Moriyama): "Oh, that was quick!"

(Yukio): "I'm sorry but could you take me to Shiemi-san?"

I can't believe Nii-san didn't follow what I said! I guess even if it looks like he's matured, he's still the same rebellious child!

Miss Moriyama takes me to the garden after opening the door. I'm once again amazed by the beauty of the flowers and their arrangements but I put those thoughts to the back of my head as I see Nii-san talking to Shiemi-san.

(Yukio): "Nii-san! What are you doing here! I can't take my eyes off you for a second!"

Seriously, I was thinking Nii-san was finally growing up, but he still can't listen to simple instructions.

(???): "You've broken our promise...! Unforgivable!"

But before I could even continue my lecture on Nii-san, I got interrupted by a Demons voice. Shit, What did Nii-san do?

(Yukio): "Miss Moriyama, take cover!"

I warn miss Moriyama but it's no use, she too surprised by the sudden events that she doesn't respond to what I'm saying. Shit.

(Rin): "Yukio, take miss Moriyama to cover! I'll hold it off for now!"

Rin puts Kuro and Midori on the floor before readying his stance and charging at the demon. When did he start learning swordsmanship? Meanwhile I take miss Moriyama to safety as I prepare myself to support Nii-san, who's struggling to deal with the Demon.

(Yukio): "Nii-san, let me help!"

I ready my gun with the medicinal capsule. It's like a paintball so it won't kill shiemi but might leave a bruise on her.

(Rin): "Don't need it."

To my surprise, Nii-san discards my support as he unsheathed his kurikara. But what surprised me even more was that he unhesitantly swings Kurikara and a blade-like shape of blue flames are emitted from kurikara and covered Shiemi-sans body.

(Dekalp): "You damn Exorcist!"

Something inside me ticked when I saw that happen. Those flames... The same flames that killed our father... And Nii-sans using it without a care of hurting others... Are now surrounding Shiemi-san

(Rin): "What do you think your doing?"

I don't know what took over me, but I decided to punch Nii-san. To my surprise he caught it and when I tried to shake him off, his grip was immoveable.

(Yukio): "What do you mean, what am I doing? Do you realise what you've done!"

Nii-san doesn't reply to my question as he gives me an annoyed look before sighing. This mother...!

(Shiemi): "... Ah... Rin..."

(Rin): "Morning sleeping beauty..."

Rin talks to the now awake Shiemi whilst I'm stood stiff with shock.

How? I saw with my own eyes shiemi being burned. So how she still alive?

My mind becomes blank as I remember the scene that just took place. Nii-san drawing Kurikara and unhesitantly using his flames to beat the Demon. When I think of how reckless his idea was, I can't stop these feelings of hurting Nii-san. What's happening to me?

(Yukio): "Nii-san..."

I unconsciously called put for Nii-san but seeing the smile on his face made me feel even more annoyed.

(Rin): "What? you got jealous of the mother-daughter duo and want a bro on bro hug?"

I got more irritated when i heard Rin act so nonchalantly. Seriously...

(Yukio): "That was reckless behaviour! If you failed to control it for even a second, you could've killed Shiemi-san!"

I yell at Nii-san to get this feeling off my chest. How? How can you use the same power that killed our father without feeling anything?

(Rin): "Relax man. I've been hard to control it. I've already mastered the basics of it, so I won't hurt what i don't want to hurt. After all, I don't wanna hurt my new friend."

Nii-san nonchalantly talks back as he gives a wink to shiemi.

The more casual and relax he gets, the angrier I feel, as the anger inside me build up.

(Miss moriyama): "Umm... would you boys like to come in for some tea. I'd like to say my thanks for saving my daughter's life."

Seeing that Nii-san and I might have a fight, miss Moriyama invites us to her house and reminds us that we're at the presence of others.

(Rin): "Thank you for you hospitality."

I was about to decline, since we already caused a scene, but Nii-san casually agrees and begins walking towards the two after picking up his two familiars. Seeing as there's nothing else to do and Nii-san already accepted the invitation on my behalf, I joined them to have tea. Hopefully I can calm down by then. I could see Shiemi-san happy about us being invited so I don't want to disappoint her.

-Miss Moriyama-

When the Dekalp possessed the body of Shiemi, Miss Moriyama took cover after being escorted by Yukio into her house. She was scared of the situation, but worry for her daughter's safety soon took over her fears as she sneaks the door open to see the state of the fight.

(Miss Moriyama): "Oh my God!"

To her surprise she sees Rin in his Demon form. With his two katanas, both covered in blue flames and his flame-like demon horns and his lit up tail. She already noticed that he's a Demon, but did not think badly of them since a lot of her clients have demon heritage. But even then she didn't realise that her most frequent client, father fujimoto, was raising the son of Satan

(Miss Moriyama): "I guess this is what Shiro was hiding..."

The famous paladin and the principal of the academy's relationship have always made her wonder, 'What are these two hiding?' Now she finally found out but she doesn't know if she should be happy or frightened about it.

(Miss Moriyama): "Beautiful."

When she looked at the blue flames. They were the most beautiful thing she's ever seen, even comparing them to her mother's garden. When she saw Rin's flames covering Shiemi's body, her mind broke down again thinking her daughter was dead and a brief sense of guilt and regret covered her eyes, but before they could go to anger, she noticed that Rin saved Shiemi's body from hitting the floor and he slays the Demon.

She felt confused as she processes what she was seeing. Rin having blue flames, similar from the blue night and her precious daughter, that was surrounded by those flames and looked like she was waking up.

(Yukio): "Nii-san!"

She broke herself of her thoughts when Yukio attempts to punch the saviour of her daughter, his older brother.

When her daughter finally wakes up, she was once again experiences the waves of regret and the feeling of 'what if my daughter died?'

She already lost her mother and with the situation with her family, she isn't allowed to see her husband, so her only family she has left is her daughter.

Seeing her daughter struggling to walk, she made a decision. She decided to let her daughter enjoy her life and do whatever she wants.

If she wants to stay in the garden she, she'll allow it and even decorate it, if she desires to go school, she'll allow it. whatever shiemi wants she'll let it happen.

After all, she only just came to the realisation that her daughter's feelings are more important than her unnecessary worries. Although she can't help but worry, she'll support her as much as she wants.

(Miss Moriyama): "Shiemi!"

Seeing her daughter fine once again made her want to cry in tears, but she held them back. She had to say this.

(Miss Moriyama): "You know, I once looked for it myself, when I was younger. The garden of Amahara."

She wanted to get along with her daughter. She wanted to make a stronger bond for themselves than Shiemi had with her Granny. She couldn't hold it back anymore as she brought her daughter into the embrace and started hugging her tightly.

(Miss Moriyama): "You stupid, stupid little girl...! I was worried sick...!"

(Shiemi): "I'm so sorry, Mother."

They both cry at each other's arms and swears to not make the other worried anymore. While they were having their beautiful moment, a certain 'genius' couldn't handle his anger anymore and lashed out at Rin.

Seeing the two brothers fighting, Miss Moriyama wanted to dissolve the fighting. After all, it's the least she can do for her daughters saviour and she doesn't want them to have a fight like shiemi and herself had.

(Miss moriyama): "Umm... Would you boys like to come inside for some tea. I'd like to say my thanks for saving my daughter's life"

(Rin): "Thank you for your hospitality."

Rin bows as he goes to his two familiars. Miss Moriyama is happy to see that Yukio agreed as well and shows them into the house, where she made shiemi stay with the two of them, fearing that they might have a fight once she's gone.

-Rin's Pov-

Haaah, I sigh at Yukio's small lectures and Shiemi's red face. This is day's been the most annoying I've ever had.

(Miss Moriyama): "Umm... Would you boys like to come inside for some tea. I'd like to say my thanks for saving my daughter's life"

(Rin): "Thank you for your hospitality."

I give a short bow to Miss Moriyama as I express my happiness in getting to relax.

(Rin): "Lets go."

I walk up to Midori and put him on my head and hold Kuro's hand and help him stand up. Shiemi's mum gives me a wry smile, looking at how we're both holding someone who can't walk properly before taking us to the house.

The inside of the house gives off the traditional japanese atmosphere as there are tatami mats and even a tatami table.

(Miss Moriyama): "I'll make the tea's. Shiemi, would you look after our two guests?"

Miss Moriyama asks shiemi, which the latter respond with a...

(Shiemi): "Yes."

Miss Moriyama smiles at shiemi and walks her way to, which I assume is the kitchen.

The seating arrangements are as follows: Shiemi at the left of me, Yukio at the opposite of Shiemi and my two familiars are sitting on my lap.

It got real awkward here so lets make some convo.

(Rin): "So Shiemi, how old are you? You look like you're our age."

Yep, I suck at starting the conversation. Hope it works well.

(Shiemi): "I just turned 15! My birthdays on the 6th of march. When's your birthday?"

(Rin): "Our birthday is on the 27th of december. We usually just celebrate it at Christmas."

(Shiemi): "Oh, I forgot you and Yukio are twins."

Shiemi looks down as she once again remembers that me and Yukio are twins. Yep, it got awkward again

(Kuro and Midori): "What's a birthday?"

I look down to kuro and Midori and head patted the two as I answer their question.

(Rin): "A birthday is when friends and family celebrate the day you were given birth to. Last year we had people at the monastery, where everyone gave us presents, we had fun and ate a giant cake.."

Well, it's been years since 'I' had a birthday. The last time was when I was 6 before my grandparents passed away. Since then my mother hasn't been bothered in giving me a present and I'm pretty sure she doesn't even remember my birthday in the first place.

(Kuro and Midori): "Cake!"

Kuro and Midori seems to like the idea of having cake for birthdays. I wonder if I should make one for them?

(Rin): "When it's your birthdays I'll be sure to make cake for you two."

I smile at them and give them more head pats. Its surprising comfortable for me to give them head pats.

(Kuro and Midori): "But we don't know our birthdays."

They both looked down in disappointment when they said that. They're so cute!

(Rin): "Don't worry about that. Midori i tamed you on the first day of school which was the 2nd of April and Kuro I tamed you yesterday which was the 7th of april. Next year we'll celebrate these together."

(Kuro and Midori): "Thanks Rin!"

They both give me a hug when i said that. haha, I love these two.

(Rin): "No problem. Just make sure you behave well."

(Shiemi): "Wow, Rin, you sound like a father."

(Rin): "Huh?"

A father, huh. I've always wondered whats it like to have one. The closest thing I know of having one is from the old Rin's memories, but even then I know that the love shiro fujimoto had wasn't directed to me but the old Rin.

(Rin): "I guess its because my father passed away that i started acting like this."

I haven't thought about having a family or even my future career. Even in my past life I only thought of moving out of the house once I graduated my A-levels. But i got reincarnated here instead of finishing my final year of secondary school.

(Rin): "Well whatever, I love these peaceful times, but I hope they last a bit longer."

If i want to help these two grow up and my future family and friends than I better make this world a 'safer' place. Huuh, I'm getting a headache thinking about how to deal with Lucifer and the illuminati.

(Miss Moriyama): "I'm back. Shiemi could you help me hand these out."

(Shiemi): "Sure!"

Shiemi tries standing up but i put my hands on her shoulder and lightly push her back down.

(Rin): "Your still recovering. I'll help out miss Moriyama."

I smiled at shiemi before taking some of the tea cups from the tray and spread them out. She even got some biscuits for Kuro and Midori.

We all drink our tea or eat our biscuits in silence again, which I'm thankful for since I like to enjoy my food or tea in silence.

(Rin): "Miss Moriyama, do you mind if I ask you for a favour?"

(Miss Moriyama): "If it's something I can do, then I'd be glad to do it."

Alright time to get my plans rolling.

(Rin): "You see, I'm an aspiring Exorcist that's also aiming for the doctor meister. If it's possible, I'd like to work here and learn from shiemi the types of flowers and medicines you have. Think of it like a work experience."

I'm already fine with money, even though I'm still in debt, but I'm close to winning the bet against Mephisto. But the reasons for me wanting to work here is because:

one, I can get a better understanding of the plants and medicine. I've always been bad at self studies so this is gonna be a major boost in my pharmacology knowledge and makes my homework less of a pain.

Second is because I'm curious of Shiemi and her mother. Especially due to the recent chapters of Shiemi, where she quits Cram School after her mother told her something about their family.

And I guess the last reason is so I can improve my relationship with Shiemi. Whatever her family secret is, if I can get them to join my faction it'll probably be useful against the order.

I can see from the corner of my eyes Shiemi's wide eyes and I think her face is red. I guess she's happy that she gets to see me more often.

(Rin): "Plus, we'll get to see each other. Right, Friend?"

(Shiemi): "Yeah!"

I turn to shiemi as I say that, which she responds with shiny eyes. Looks like I got her daughter to agree, lets see whats the mother's reaction.

Miss Moriyama stays silent for a few moments before finally responding.

(Miss Moriyama): "If it's about work experience than I think it'll be fine to have you around. We'll mainly need your help for heavy lifting or for looking after the till. I can get you to learn about plants and the things we sell when I'm at the till, but we need to find a time your available. Afterall you're still a student."

(Rin): "Can I work on the weekends? I'd like saturday after Cram School and Sunday, whenever."

(Miss Moriyama): "Sure thing! You better put 100% into this or I might cancel the work experience."

(Rin): "No problem."

We talked about minor things before we had to leave. Yukio's still silent the whole time. Oh boy, I feel like I started making him 'darken' sooner rather than later. Guess I need to put that plan with yukio into gear soon.

We used a key to get back to the dormitory. Hey I wish I had a key like that! I wanted to say those words but I don't want to trigger a landmine.

Haah, this is gonna be annoying to deal with.

-After Rin and Yukio left the supply shop-

My daughter... She seems to be daydreaming a lot... I wonder if she's thinking of that Rin fella.

Honestly I was a bit afraid of him, being the son of Satan and all and I'm sure my husband would want to find out, but I'll do you a favour kid. Think of it as a thank you for saving my precious flower.

(Miss Moriyama): "Whatcha thinking about, Shiemi?"

She looks spooked when I asked her about what she's thinking. I have a feeling I know what it's about or who it relates to.

(Shiemi): "Mother... I'd like to join the Cram School!"

Shiemi Surprises me about her sudden declaration but i quickly put two and two together and think of the reason why she suddenly wants to join.

(Miss Moriyama): "Is it because of the Rin kid?"

I've noticed during our little tea party, that Shiemi was stealing quite a few glances at the fella. Don't tell me it's love at first sight.

While I'm grateful for Rin, can you not steal my flower! But I guess I'll need to prepare myself when she leaves.

(Miss Moriyama): "Rins a good kid and has a good head on his shoulders. If you want to be friends with him you need to make sure you get closer to him than the others, but don't let that be an excuse to not study properly."

I wonder what it would be like to have satans son as a son-in-law. Well, good luck Shiemi! I'm sure the competition is going to be tough, though.

-Rin's pov-

After we got back from the supply shop, everyone minus Yukio took a bath before had our dinner.

I watched Midori and Kuro play with each other as they were in the water. I wonder if this is what it's like to have kids? Well, anyway, they're fun to have around.

After we had Dinner, Yukio wasn't in the dorm as I couldn't sense his aura anymore. it's already nightfall so I hope he's not doing anything dangerous.

I really need to make up with him even though I'm really at fault.

In the meantime, me and my familiars are watching an anime called 'bleach'. Honestly I was expecting the world to have different anime from the old world but they seem to have a lot of the mainstream anime. I done some research and the company's name is "Mephy studios" and the one in charge, yep its Mephisto. They made a lot of mainstream anime mangas and even social media apps like instagram and facebook

Well anyway, we're using Yukio's laptop to watch, so we're watching at the desk with kuro on my lap and midori on my right shoulder.

(Kuro): "Hey Rin, do you think we look like a family?"

Kuro surprises me with the question once we finished watching an episode. Family, huh.

(Rin): "Why'd you say that? Is it because of what Shiemi said?"

(Kuro): "Yeah, I've always wondered what it's like to have parents. I've never met mine since I was raised at the shrine as a deity, I've always been curious of what it's like."

So Kuro's been thinking about it for a while, huh. I've also wondered whats it like to have a mother and father that cares for me. I guess I'll find out if I ever get married.

(Rin): "What? So you think we look like brothers?"

I ruffle his hair when I said that. Honestly, It would be funny if I treat Kuro more as a brother than my own twin, but Kuro shakes his head at my question.

(Kuro): "No. I already have a little brother, Midori. I thought that you act more like a father and a mother combined."

My brain slowed down for a minute... A father and a mother, huh.

(Rin): "What? You want me to continue acting like you guy's father or something?"

I don't see why not but the normal thing would've been us becoming brothers instead.

(Kuro): "Well, you just seem mature like an adult, strict like a father and caring like a mother."

(Midori): "Plus you're hard working and make good food!"

I wonder if the main reason is so I can spoil them. I'd like to see Yukio's face if he ever hears what Kuro said.

(Rin): "Oh well, if that's what you guys want then I'll happily adopt you. Guess i need to change your names to Kuro Okumura and Midori Okumura."

(Midori and kuro): "Yes dad!"

I feel a wave of feelings when I hear that. I guess this isn't bad.

(Rin): "Hope we get along well!."

We all smile and laugh when I said that. I guess i have another thing dear to me.
