Still, that didn't mean that they could take a hammer to the wall and make it collapse. The defending Count likely knew that as well, which was probably part of the reason that he hadn't decided to put any of his extra coin towards repairs – at least not immediately.
But Vol didn't think that he needed to break it. He looked along the front wall, seeing the armoured Count that had been left in charge. He was another old man, even older than Count Karth, and far more frail looking. His sword rested against the stones in front of him, and he had its hilt clasped with both hands, looking rather stoic and refined in his pose – but Vol thought he might have been putting a little too much weight on his weapon. It seemed less like he was putting on a display of refinement, and more that he was genuinely using the sword to keep himself upright, as if it were a walking stick.
