My Last Apocalypse

I can't explain why or how this cycle repeats for me. Yet, what I do understand is each time I die, I return to the starting point, a zombie apocalypse, and continue my journey anew. In my first apocalypse, I overlooked the creeping signs of doom until overrun by zombies in my flat, where I perished in sheer terror. The second attempt to alert others of the impending chaos fell on deaf ears; labelled a lunatic, I fled the city, only to succumb to starvation and exposure alone in the wild. By the third go, I sought safety in wealth, collecting vast supplies, yet fell victim to a brutal gang. Now, understanding the key—precise foresight, survival skills, strict secrecy, and solitude—I see the purpose in reliving this collapse. This time, failure is not an option. This time, I will survive and outlive the apocalypse.

A rescue mission (1)

As we make our way to the City Hall shelter, the atmosphere among us is tense. The news of missing members from Min-soo's group has heightened our concerns about the North Korean presence we'd encountered at the seaside. The situation seems to be escalating faster than we had anticipated.

When we arrive, Min-soo greets us with a sombre expression, the stress evident in his demeanour. The City Hall shelter, usually a hub of activity and coordination, feels subdued today.

"Thanks for coming so quickly," Min-soo begins, leading us to a more private area where we can talk without interruptions. "We've got a serious problem."

"What exactly happened?" I ask, getting straight to the point.

Min-soo sighs, running his hand through his hair. "Three of our people went to the seaside area two days ago to scavenge for supplies. They knew to be cautious, to avoid any confrontations. But they haven't returned, and we've had no contact with them since."
