Once they were inside the familiar room that Harper usually occupied during her visits to Dylan's home and decided to spend the night, just like two weeks ago when she spent three nights after Rachel's departure to Seoul.
After carefully locking the door, Harper gently laid down on the familiar bed, cradling Rachel's shaking form in her arms. The younger woman's cries had subsided, but Harper could still feel the tension remaining in her body.
Gently, Harper began to stroke Rachel's back, offering her soothing protection amidst the chaos that had enveloped her life, just like any other day in the past. She knew that Rachel needed time and space to process the overwhelming events that had transpired.
Now, the same woman who had left Harper feeling so lonely in her absence was here, trembling and in tears. Harper held her close, allowing Rachel the time and space she needed to release her anguish.
