Chapter 15

The company dinner was what I’d expected it to be – a battle of tongues with me as the prey of a woman’s poisonous steps for greediness.

“You sure have your way with foreigners – I mean I expect no less,” she gestured at me as she laughs with the employee next to her – who seemed uncomfortable, but also agreed with her.

“At least, you could have stayed with that one,” she smirks as she leans forward to me.

Obviously, she didn’t act this way when my father was around. The President would most often announce the start of the party and then leave shortly after – maybe they are too busy to participate, who knows?

I had Walter right by my side here earlier – however, he said he had to go to the bathroom. Now it’s been far too long to call it a bathroom break.

I kept a smile on my face as I listened to all the bullshit she had to say, she’s pretty skilled at ticking me off.
