35: Deku

I activated One For All, and waited for Shigaraki's next move, burying my fear in its own grave. Right now, I had a family to protect. I didn't have time to be so scared that I stood there like a deer in headlights. I knew how powerful Shigaraki had gotten. I also knew I'd beaten him a few times before. Danger Sense went off, and I jumped to the right, tucking to absorb the impact. I came up kneeling, and realized I was going to get caught in the crossfire if I didn't deal with the villain in front of me. So, I acted quickly. I'm a flash, I was pinning Shigaraki to the floor, and wrapping Blackwhip around him, making sure to keep it tight. Next, I watched Bakugo as he took the villains on, and found my opening a minute later. I used Blackwhip to grab the kids, and bring them over to me, setting them down on the ground safely. I wrapped my arms around them, watching as Bakugo fought, without blowing anything in the house up. Before I could react to Danger Sense, Shigaraki broke free, and placed a finger on my head. I froze, knowing that if all five of his fingers touched me, I was in trouble. Big trouble. "Daddy!" The kids yelled, panicked and scared. "Shh, kids, it's ok. It's going to be ok." I tried to calm them, but as I did, I noticed that two of them were too caught up in their anger to listen. It was Tenshi and Asahi. The ground began to shake, and at first, I thought it was an earthquake. But I realized it was the quirk of one of the kids. "Don't touch Daddy." Tenshi growled, giving Shigaraki a good death stare for a child her age. "Or what, little girl? You'll throw a temper tandrum?" I smirked, knowing what would happen. "No." The ground shot up toward the villain, but he didn't step back, allowing his arm to get pierced by a sharp rock spire. I tried to use that to my advantage. Which meant I broke free of his grasp, and stared him down, daring him to make another move. He didn't. "IZUKU!" Bakugo shouted, but it was too late. A sharp, unbearable pain spiked in my head, and a warm, sticky liquid ran down my face as I fell on my knees, clutching my head, panting. Damn, that hurts! What even was it? Can anything be this unbearable?! I was lost in my head, unable to process what was happening around me, barely hearing the muffled explosions and screams. Come on, Izuku, just get up, push through the pain, and get up, get up, go help Kacchan, just go-An explosion sounded, and before I knew it, I landed-hard-on my back. And then everything went black.
