My Heart and Seoul (28): Survival Mode.

Rae's POV

I'm doing this for Lishi. I'm doing this for my best friend but God if this didn't feel disgusting.

Currently I'm in a car with Seunghyun in a skintight black dress.

How you may ask? Seducing and/or possibly drugging him would usually be the way to go but no I'm pretending to sign the papers. The dress is Hanna's and I'm acting as eye candy to distract him as much as possible.

The plan is whilst I pretend to sign the papers half of the group will disarm the guards around Seunghyun whilst the others get Lishi, Haneul and Yun out. That plus Hanna will be disabling any alarms via me.

If he gets suspicious of my actions we could all get fucked over. My group is tailing us in another unsuspecting car whilst we head to where everyone else is.

"Did you dress up just for me?" His voice felt so slimey as he scooted up closer. Its working but I just felt my tea come back up.

"Who said I didn't dress up for myself? Sorry Seunghyun but whilst I'm willing to partner myself with you you've got yet to win my heart." I replied with a wink, act natural Rae it'll all be a ridiculous nightmare soon enough.

We arrived not too long later and I checked the time on my phone. Only 23 minutes to go. Now or never, I braced myself by taking a deep breath before exiting the car and heading into the lions den.

Well I was about to until I heard someone yell out my name.

"Rae is that you?" I turned around to see Jaehyun on a bike looking confused as he rode over to us.

"Jaehyun? What are you doing here?!" In a split second before I could react Seunghyun's men surrounded him with their guns drawn. Jaehyun squeaked in terror with as he was surrounded by several guards armed to the teeth. Jesus christ how did he get here.

"You haven't been around in a while and I was wondering where you went, I'm sorry please don't shoot me!" His words tumbled out of him shakily eyeing the barrel of a gun close to his head. Seunghyun's laughter broke the tension

"Well I certainly didn't expect a top idol such as yourself to be concerned for her? Or are you perhaps something more?" Jaehyun's face fell at his words and I grimaced. Now was not the time to bring this up.....

"Seunghyun call off your men and let's down to business. I'd rather not have my day job implicated by this." I managed to make myself sound as cool and unaffected as possible. The bodyguards put their weapons away and stood closer to us than earlier.

The one good thing about Jaehyun's arrival is it bought us more time and we're able to see which ones have weapons and those who don't. Who would've thought he'd be here though...he was always too soft for his own good if he hurt someone he's go to the ends of the earth to apologise. Didn't think he'd walk into a high stakes battle of sorts.

Seunghyun, who was highly amused by all of this emotional revelation, lead us along to his office. Smug looking bastard that he was. But he does think he has the upper hand so we can let him smile for a bit longer. Because I'll wipe that smile off his face with the fat end of a chair.

"Isn't this cute. I'm surprised though Rae I didn't think you were the type to mix work and romance. We might be a good fit together after all." Ew hell no. I sighed pushing some hair behind my ear.

"And what makes you worthy of me. Right now the only thing you have in terms of leverage are my friends. I own the bigger territory, I have more men, I could crush you." His eyebrows rose at my words and Jaehyun looked confused.

"Could someone tell me what's going on....is this some kind of mafia meeting? Oh god Rae are you in the mafia i didn't see that comin-" i reached over and smacked him upside the head.

"Shut up Jaehyun before you bite off more than you can chew. This is my business, so shush." I hissed at him. This guy is gonna get us all killed if he doesn't shut the hell up. He looked shocked and even a little hurt but I had to get him to be quiet somehow.

We went over the boring legalities and I looked at the clock behind him watching the seconds as they flitted by. 10 min to go. The group should've infiltrated and taken out the guards.

"You said you carried my favourite drinks here, could you be a dear and get me one?" I grinned. Hanna started relaying information through my earpiece (which is currently hiding in the small pocket inside my dress) about what to do once he steps out.

It's go time. Any way possible I need him out of the room. Just long enough to get on his laptop and fry it permanently. His life's work is on that thing and if I back it up on my end and we manage to save my friends....we should be safe.

"I'll send someone to get it." Seunghyun replied lazily waving at one of his men who headed out to get it. He was in his element, and about to strike it so rich. Or so he thinks.

"....so how'd you guys know each other." Jaehyun asked breaking some of the tension.

"Generational pals. Friends of a friend and so forth. Our families work in opposite ends of business but we mix frequently. Don't we Rae dear?" Seunghyun grinning with mischief.

"Please don't let him know anything, I'd prefer not to have my day job screwed over. Seunghyun let's get right to it, what's left to talk about?" I said with exasperation as I sat up in my seat. Its good he wants to drag this out but God almighty he's insufferable. He's just a good looking psychopath.

"Just a promise from you Rae, that you'll not betray me once we sign the paper." The face which held arrogance and confidence was replaced with a look of....vulnerability? Is this him being a real human being? I must be going insane. I smiled in return.

"Seunghyun the day I sign those papers is the day I'll trust you."

His geniune smile was something that scared me more than the look earlier. He's a psycho who uses my friends lives as leverage and here I am practically imagining him as a friend. I've lost it no doubt.

"A mocha for the lady, and a latte for you sir."

The worker came back with coffee from the local coffee shop and was speed walking to get it to us when the most magical thing happened. Jaehyun bent down to retie his shoe and when he extended it the worker tripped over his foot.

Spilling both hot drinks right onto Seunghyun's face and suit.

The screams were something out of a horror movie. I couldn't estimate who was screaming the loudest, Jaehyun and the worker from fear and Seunghyun from the scalding coffee burns. His face was already bright red and blistering up making me wince. Sucks but that's karma.

"Oh my god are you okay?" I pretended to be concerned and handed him off to the other men who ran in at the sound of screams.

"You better treat him quickly he still hasn't signed the contract!" I call out after them. Seunghyun turned and replied

"Don't move a muscle or I'll shoot your friends early."

Yeah any sympathy I had disappeared like magic.

Once I could no longer hear their footsteps I looked at the two bodyguards guarding me with a smile.

"Could you look at my ankle please I think I got some hot coffee on it too!" Best actress mode on, I pretended to wince in pain making one of them come towards me and kneel down.

"Are you okay Rae?!" Jaehyun asked concernedly scooting closer on the coach we were sat on. I waved him off.

"All I need is a little medicine..." I replied with a wink. As soon as the guards neck was exposed I poked him with the sharp end of my bracelet. Which happened to be covered in a paralysing toxic medical rub. Two seconds and he lurched forwards as if lightning struck him.

"Hey I think your friend here us having a heart attack or something he just collapsed! Man whats with all the medical emergencies today." Jaehyun called out in fake -well fake to me sounding- concern.

Oh that's kinda slick of him but it worked and the other guy came over. He tried shaking the other guy but before he could register something was wrong Jaehyun grabbed a hardcover book on the coffee table and with one hit on the back of the head he was out like a light too.

"Appreciate that. Could you tie their hands please whilst I do something." I walked over to the door and locked it from the inside with the deadbolt. Won't do much but we should be fine for a few minutes. I went over to Seunghyun's PC ready to attempt accessing it.

"Hanna I'm at his computer tell me what to do."

Hanna guided me through it updating me the entire time on our position. We had taken down most of the men with no casualties on our side. The speed of these men was slightly concerning but I'm just glad that their on my side.

SECURITY ACCESS GRANTED

Great now to put in the stop command. As soon as I hit enter I breathed a sigh of relief seeing the doors open on the monitor and Lishi plus the guys exiting. Well I was relieved till I remembered something.

Now that I'm in here how the fuck will we escape unharmed.

"Hanna whats the least dangerous way of getting out of here?" I asked through the earpiece.

"Hmm go ahead and take the back stairs, you're only on the fifth floor. There's a side door on the ground floor for catering staff to exit and enter." She replied after a few seconds of silence.

"Rae should we take these?" Jaehyun caught my attention holding up two guns. He probably swiped them from the guards. I took them, checked and saw they were both fully loaded and handed one to Jaehyun.

"Yes take one for yourself as well. Let's get the hell out of here." I replied grabbing his arm and rushing out of the office like a bat out of hell.

The hallways were a little confusing but we managed to make it to the stairwell. My lungs burned a little as I wasn't used to this much physical exertion but I got through it. It was weirdly easy how we  never got caught in the hallways or got  downstairs without an issue.

"Rae good news we met with Lishi and the guys. Bad news is we're stuck in a deadlock with Seunghyun's men. He's got that idol guy in his grip and says he will shoot if you don't get out here." Hanna's slightly shaky voice rang through my ears.

I should've seen this coming of course he wouldn't leave me be like that. I cursed and turned away from the safe exit.

"Where are you going?" Jaehyun asked confused.

"I have to go, Jaehyun listen really well some people dressed like me are on the other side of that door those are good people. They'll keep you safe." I sighed and gave him a shoulder pat before walking away not before he could get out a last sentence.

"Who's going to protect you though?"

Damn. I wish I could say everything is fine but the world's practically imploding.

I ran to the location Hanna told me, which was right where I walked in from with Seunghyun. I could see the idol guy, with Seunghyun holding a very much loaded gun to his head. We were evenly matched with his men one for one so it was a stand off.

"Why are you guys such fools!? I asked her to not betray me and she does this! Blame her!" He laughed maniacally waving the gun around and smacking it on the idol guys head.

"Seunghyun that's enough!" I yelled as I walked out into the stand-off. All eyes turned to me and I was relieved to see Lishi and Yun relatively okay minus some minor bruising.

"Oh look who it is!" He turned to face me and I winced a little at how rough he looked. His skin was still pink from the previous coffee throw and he looked absolutely insane. The once put together and begrudgingly handsome psycho now looked like he just escaped a mental institute because his clothes and general demeanour was a mess.

"Look Seunghyun, let go of the guy and walk away. You'll be outnumbered once the rest of my people show up." I replied somewhat calmly. I cant show fear but God was this nerve wracking and terrifying.

"You know I really hate you Rae. Why do you get a near perfect life when your parents are scum!" His screech hurt my ears and looking at some of the others, their ears felt the same.

"Do you know what they've done to my family?! You hunted us down like animals!" My eyes widened at his words. What the hell? He laughed at my bewildered look.

"Don't you know your parents did more than just contact security? They got lucky dying from a stupid car crash. If it were me I'd have tortured them!" He sighed like it was a tragedy.

"And everything you've done was for what? You dragged innocents into this, you went too far. Whatever grievance you have with my family you settle it with me." I said firmly. I'll question Uncle Gi about it later but now is not the time. Seunghyun grinned as if he expected it.

"I did it so you can feel some pain, but you continue to live happily. Now," he lifted the gun, "finally I'm going to end this once and for all."

Several gunshots were heard that day, and the ground was splattered with red.
