White Ghost Gu

In the secluded mountain, surrounded with gigantic trees of ancient forest young man was sitting cross-legged on the green grass. He had a troubled expression on his pale face and trace of red blood could be seen in the corner of his mouth. There was a small pool of crimson blood before him and in this blood was lying a dying worm.

Worm had a bizarre appearance. It was as long as thumb of newborn child and it's body was strangely flat. It had a white slippery skin, which was sparkling on the midday sun as it was moving. With the closer look one could have noticed a pale pink vines all around of worm. It's mouth was wide open, revealing layers of white sharp teethes, too big for this small creature.

Probably from agony, time to time creature was making a painful voice. But this voice wasn't strong enough to reach a young man's mind, as he sat there lost in his thoughts. White clouds from a clear blue sky were reflecting on his gray eyes and waves of his black long heir were dancing with the low breeze.

"Hah... what a stupid man..." after some time young man said as he looked at his hands.

The current him wasn't the original owner of this body, but a young man from modern Earth, who died with heart-attack. His soul transmigrated here and possessed body of Timothy Viel, outer sect disciple of Undead Gu sect. With this he not only gained original owners body but his memories too. The reason to why he said that wasn't to make fun out from died man's intelligence, but to criticize his life decisions.

"How can anyone risk his life for some power?" He continued as his eyes moved on the dying worm.

This was a ghost Gu. One of the most basic cultivation Gu in the Undead Gu sect.

In this world humans could cultivate towards immortality and main path of this road was a Gu cultivation. It was vicious method of cultivating. One should have planted a parasitic worm called Gu in his acupoint. After Gu would merged, it would became a part of his body and with help of this Gu, human could absorb world's spiritual energy in his body and transform it into the mystic Qi.

In this process Gu worm had a most important task and without it, it was impossible to ascended towards higher realms of cultivation.

There were many different types of Gu worm in this world. As far as original owner of this body knew, mainly they were divided into a nine grade. They were: White, Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Black gold, Legendary, Mystic and Supreme. From them White was considered weakest and Supreme, if it existed, was the strongest.

The Ghost Gu was white grade Gu and It was easy to obtain this Gu for cultivation. That been said, it was a rear sight to see a cultivator who was cultivating with it. Reason for this wasn't that it was hard to cultivate, but because of poor quality of this Gu.

Every Gu had some kind of skills or traits. After cultivate with this Gu people could get abilities from them. Gu worms had all kind of abilities. Some of them had relatively weaker abilities like "skin hardening" which had a limited usage for cultivator. But there also existed abilities like "Devine mind" which would greatly help cultivators and alter their respective talent towards perfection.

But Ghost Gu was little 'special' in this aspect. It was only known Gu which doesn't had any talent. It was only useful for cultivating and because of that it was considered as a weakest one. There wasn't any benefit to prefer this Gu from other ones. Even if they had a weak talents, it was still better to had a weak then none.

For many people Ghost Gu was useless, but for previous holder of this body it was blessing from high heaven.

Like a Gu worms, in this world humans too had a different kind of talent. Human's talent in Gu cultivation was depend on their acupoints. There were nine levels of acupoint and every one was apprised with stars. One star acupoint was the lowest talent and nine star acupoint highest.

Talent of timothy Viel was so bad, that it was hard to even say that he had a one star acupoint. Because of this, he didn't had a choice to pick other type of Gu then this one. One could also say, that this Gu was the reason that he still could cultivate. Sadly it was reason for his death too.

In the Undead Gu sect if outer disciple wouldn't breakthrough one major realm within ten years from entering in sect, their position as an outer disciple would be taken from them and they would become a servant, or to say more accurately they would become slaves of sect. In cultivation sects like Undead Gu sect was, which was following evil path of cultivation, it was much more pleasant to be dead then a slave. In the Undead Gu sect some Gus needed a special 'criteriums' to cultivate and cultivators of sect were using this slaves to 'help' them. Their everyday life was full of pain and misery.

Timothy was cultivating in the sect for almost ten years. He was cultivating diligently and managed to cultivate tenth layer of Qi refinement realm. He was one step away from breakthrough on the foundation establishment realm and maintain his status as an outer sect's disciple.

But to breakthrough major realm wasn't the easy merit. As cultivation was progressing it was requiring more mystic Qi to breakthrough on the higher realms. Despite the fact, that with the cultivator his Gu too was becoming more stronger as their realm was rising and speed which it was providing body with mystic Qi was becoming faster, there was still limitation to how much Qi it could give out.

Generally speaking, one white grade Gu was enough for cultivators to breakthrough at the peak of Qi refinement realm. After that cultivators needed to plant another Gu in their acupoint to breakthrough. But stars of acupoint not only depicted to what kind of grade their Gu worm could have been, but also to how many Gu their body could have take. One star acupoint had only enough power to host one Gu worm.

Timothy was at his peak. He was stood at the end of his cultivation road. But he couldn't accept that. He who worked hardest couldn't accept to become a stair for someone else's cultivation. Because of that he took a risk and plant another Gu in his acupoint...

"And that was last thing that he done..." Young man said as the memories fleshed before his eyes.

From his words it was hard to tell, but he was genuinely sad to what happened with previous holder of this body. After all he had last memories of timothy Viel and clearly felt to what he was feeling at the end of his life.

"Well, It is as it is..." He said and tried to stand up. But as soon as he moved his limbs unimaginable pain came into his abdomen.
