Encounter With Survivors

Editor: Exodus Tales

When Ling Mo took Ye Lian out towards the city's main district, he discovered that Ye Lian's change in consciousness wasn't only displayed in her actions, but her instinct was magnified.

When she faced normal zombies, she treated them as inferior creatures. Her technique in killing them was cleaner and she looked like she was stepping on an unremarkable insect. Her attacking speed also increased. Before, she only looked like a leopard, right now, she was a leopard in human form.

Although the virus' evolution made Ye Lian appear more human, her actions were closer to a real beast especially when she faced weak prays. Perhaps to Ye Lian, normal zombies were weak dregs.

Ling Mo couldn't help but to think how she will react when Ye Lian faced a human… But he should be able to prevent her from randomly attacking under his control.

As he rode a bike with Ye Lian and quickly crossed the streets of the city, Ling Mo would enjoy it if they weren't surrounded by zombies.

However, it didn't last long. Not long after they entered the city, trouble found them.

Accurately speaking, he bumped into two survivors who were being surrounded by zombies.

The survivors were one male and one female, looking quite young. It wasn't hard to tell that they were looking for food supplies from their backpacks. The place they were fighting at was outside a large supermarket. They used the front door of the supermarket and somewhat managed to hold back from the zombies' attack. However, more and more zombies surrounded them and they found themselves in danger.

These zombies were quick and violent and their attacks were strong. The front glass door of the supermarket soon shattered and the two of them had to back off more, using obstacles such as shelves and counters to avoid attacks.

Ling Mo watched silently from afar and when he wanted to walk around them, but the girl caught his attention.

The girl held a long sword in her hand and she had a grin on her face during the entire fight. Whenever danger approached her, she beheaded them quickly and neatly, killing all the zombies in front of her. The speed of that instant was almost as quick as Ye Lian. If Ling Mo didn't see it with his own eyes, he wouldn't have believed that an ordinary little girl with such skills existed.

The main thing was her smile. Usually, when girls were in such a situation, their faces would be pale and trembling if not terrified. But from her expressions, she seemed to enjoy the course of the fight, especially when she was clearly in a disadvantaged situation. No matter how strong she was, her stamina would run out eventually as she faced more and more zombies. Ling Mo could tell that the sudden speed buff of her attacks was not only a huge challenge to her stamina, but also a challenge to her concentration.

Yet, she was still so calm under this situation…

Doubt flashed across his mind; perhaps this girl also had some kind of special powers like him?

Ling Mo became extremely curious about the girl as he thought of this possibility. But he looked at Ye Lian who sat at the back of his bike and decided to mind his own business. It would be fine if they were normal survivors, but if they had special powers, it would be troublesome if they learnt Ye Lian's real identity…

But when he was about to take a detour, but he heard a loud yell from the supermarket's direction, "Big brother! Help!"

Ling Mo's head suddenly ached when he heard the yell.

Not to mention that this "big brother" made him feel depressed, the loud yell alone was enough to give him more trouble! The zombies' hearing was even more sensitive than ordinary humans, quite a few more zombies appeared from nearby alleys and shops as soon as the boy yelled. And as they appeared, they immediately noticed Ling Mo and threw themselves at them.

"Are you kidding me?!" Ling Mo cursed angrily in silence as he jumped off the bike after pulling the short sword tied on his waist. He was concerned with the girl's identity and he had no choice but to make Ye Lian hide behind her so that they wouldn't notice anything if Ye Lian didn't have a chance to make a move.

However, it was Ling Mo's first time trying to fight more than ten zombies at the same time. With his fighting skills alone, it was far from being able to fight off so many zombies.

Luckily Ling Mo could control zombies and it was a good opportunity to test it. He raised his short sword and dashed to the zombie in front of him. Then, his glance shifted to the second zombie and the moment their eyes met, Ling Mo's unyielding consciousness forcefully controlled the zombie.

At the same time as he beheaded the first zombie, the second zombie which was controlled, sent itself to him, hitting its head on Ling Mo's blade.

It was only the beginning. Ling Mo saw a few zombies charging towards him at the same time and his heart trembled as he kicked away a dead body. However, his head was clearer than ever.

He tried to control two zombies at the same time, what about three then?

It was a new challenge for Ling Mo to control three zombies at the same time, but there wasn't much for him to think in the urgent moment. The thought flashed across his mind and he immediately attempted it without hesitation.

He slashed the zombie at the very front and controlled two zombies following the first time. When their movement was paused briefly, Ling Mo's short sword quickly slit their throats. This type of control method could only affect the zombies' movements temporarily and even Ling Mo didn't expect it to be so effective in real combat.

Working with the method, it looked like Ling Mo dashed into the zombies easily and killed more than ten zombies at an unimaginable speed. In a blink of an eye, only dead bodies surrounded Ling Mo.

Blood splattered all of Ling Mo's body, making him look like a god from the underworld. The boy and the girl in the supermarket were shocked at the scene.

"Holy shit! Xia Na, did you see that? What does that guy do? He's so fierce!" The boy froze in his spot and yelled in astonishment, but he didn't notice a zombie's hand reaching towards him through the gap of the counter.

"Puu!'

A beam of cold light sliced in front of his eyes and the hand landed next to his feet, the boy looked at the girl right next to him and cold sweat filled his head.

Xia Na glanced at him coldly as she stabbed the long sword into the zombie's stomach and pulled it out roughly, "Is that any of my business?"

"We are saved! Come, let's break out of here!" Although Xia Na reacted coldly, the boy was extremely excited as there was a change in the situation.

He didn't care if Ling Mo was happy to save them or not, the boy dashed out from behind the counter and Xia Na followed closely as she frowned.

Ling Mo watched as the two dashed towards him from afar, he knew that he won't be able to get away from them for now. Rather than watching them bringing over a large crowd of zombies along, it was better to rescue them from the crowd of zombies.
