Maya glanced down at the phone in her hand and felt herself tremble in slight anger and embarrassment. She was angry that the man was lying to her, but she was embarrassed that she had not noticed. Worst of all, she still didn't know what these lies were...
Without another thought, she swiped open the phone and searched for the messages from 'Nova'. Not the old phone number, but the new one. Her gut told her that there was something wrong with this number. She knew Nova was alive, so this number couldn't possibly be her.
As she glared at the two men, she pressed the phone and dialed the number. Placing it up to her ear, she quietly waited for the call to connect.
All of a sudden...
A ringtone started playing...
Maya lifted her head and looked in suspicion at the two men in front of her. Their conversation was interrupted by the ringing phone.
