Chapter 10

"Can you please shift so I can get enough space?", I said after contemplating for a while.

Without any comment, he did as I asked him. I gently fell beside him on the bed and placed my head on his arm since he didn't want to take it away. I was feeling uncomfortable in that position so I tried taking his hand away from where it was but my hand mistakenly brushed his lips. He stared at me and I stared back. He then used his fingers to rub my lips as I he was preparing for a kiss.

"I'm sorry, I have to go", I finally broke the long silence as I got up from the bed to leave. He pulled me me back and I fell on him with both lips coming into contact. My heart started beating hard that I could feel it against my chest. He tried to kiss me but I resisted it.

"Don't you love me?", he asked with a sad expression.

"Urhm….I ….I …"

"You said you wanted to leave right, you can go", he cut me off when I wasn't able to form my words. I took my bag and left the hospital in distress.

So many thoughts ran through my head as I walked out. 'Will he still want to be my friend? Will he still help me in times of trouble? Will he always be there for me?', I asked those questions without getting answers to them.

I took my bath immediately after getting home to calm down. I had a lot of thinking to do, I didn't bother preparing anything to eat because I didn't feel hunger. I laid on my bed while thinking before dozing off.

I didn't feel like going to school when the sun rose. I rather decided to pay Aikens a visit to check up on him. After taking my shower and having breakfast, I left my apartment straight to the hospital. Upon reaching the hospital, I met one of the nurses and asked for permission to see Aikens.

"I'm sorry but he was discharged about an hour ago", the nurse told me.

"Thanks", I said to the nurse before turning around to leave. " Could he still be mad at me that he didn't bother to call or text me after being discharged?", I murmured and walked out of the hospital.

'I think I have to go to his house to check up on him', I just thought. 'Will it be a good idea to go and visit a guy alone in his house?', I was just confused as to what to do before finally deciding to visit him at home. I pressed the bell at the entrance of his house when I got there. When he opened the main gate and saw me standing there, he tried to close back the gate but I stopped him.

"Can you please allow me", he left the gate opened and went back inside. He had a very beautiful house which was well kept.

I hurried inside and locked the gate behind me. Because of the large size of the house, I had to follow him closely in order not to loose sight of him. I kept looking around till he asked my to sit. He didn't want to even look at me nor talk to me so I had to do something to catch his attention. I faked a cough to get his eyes off the television and attend to me.

"Should I get you water?", he asked in a concerned tone.

"I think so", I replied and he went to get it for me then returned to what he was doing.

I took the water and deliberately spilled in but unfortunately for me, I got myself wet.

"I'm sorry, I'd get it wiped ", I said in a regretful manner.

"Don't worry about that, you are wet so get changed first", he simply said.

"But I didn't bring any dress along with me"

"I don't stay with any female here so I don't have dress for u, I don't know if you'd be okay in mine",he said as if he was waiting for my answer.

"I have no choice", was my reply.

"Come with me", he said and headed upstairs . I obeyed and followed him closely .

He opened a room and walked inside before gesturing me to come in. The room was very luxurious. It was too big for just a single person to stay in but he was there alone.

"There's towel in there", he said pointing the closet." You can get yourself any shirt that suits you from the wardrobe, I'd be waiting downstairs ", he said and left the room.

I wiped myself and got a white long sleeve shirt which was just below my butt to wear . I walked downstairs after getting changed . I sat beside him but I made sure our body never came in contact. He was watching an action movie which I didn't like so decided to change it but he took the control and told me he's in his house.
