Unexpected Reunion

Chapter: 32

"Hello, Mary. How have you been, or should I call you Lady Eternal?" Adrian greeted the woman.

The woman before him had short, dark blue or purple hair with bangs that framed her face. Her striking greyish silver eyes stood out against her pale complexion. She wore a white lab coat over a blue outfit, giving her a professional or scientific appearance.

"Hello to you too, Adrian. I have been well," Mary replied.

"Wonderful. But if you don't mind me asking, why are you here?" Adrian asked curiously.

Mary sighed before replying, "The meeting is in two months, Adrian."

"Huh, meeting...?" Adrian thought for a bit before the answer came to him. "Ohh... It's that time already?" Adrian asked, surprised.

"Yes, but it seemed like you got occupied and forgot," Mary said.

"It has been quite a relatively peaceful two years for me," Adrian said with a shrug.

"Yes, I have seen. Sigurrós Stefánsdóttir, but believe me, the Scarlet King has been throwing a fit because of that," Mary said, rubbing her temples.

"Oh yes, I know. I took his daughter, so what? At least he wasn't as pissed as when I started dating his mother," Adrian said, chuckling.

"Ugh, don't remind me. Speaking of which, how is Anafabula doing?" Mary asked.

"Oh, she's doing fine. She should be with Sigurrós right now," Adrian replied.

"Good. Be sure to relay the message to her and your sister."

"I will," Adrian promised.

Mary studied him for a moment. "You seem different, Adrian. More... content."

Adrian raised an eyebrow. "Content? That's not a word usually associated with me."

"Maybe not, but I can see it. Sigurrós has changed you, hasn't she?" Mary said with a knowing smile.

"Yeah, love does some strange things. But since we're on the topic of love, why are you still single?" Adrian teased.

"Well, maybe because the only person that can stay with me indefinitely that I like isn't single."

"What?.....the only person everyone else of the fifteen is....oh, that's what you meant." Adrian said, putting the pieces together. "Me?"

Mary's gaze softened, and she nodded slightly. "Yes, you, Adrian. You are the only one who can truly understand the burden we bear, the eternity we face."

"I see," Adrian said thoughtfully.

Adrian then set up a telepathy link to Anafabula.

'Ana.'

'Yes, Adrian?'

'Can you head to my office? I have something we need to discuss. I'll be there in five minutes. I have a guest.'

'Okay.'

Mary was about to leave until Adrian suddenly teleported over to her, grabbed her by the hand, and they both vanished.

Adrian reappeared next to Camile and the others. "Everything is taken care of. Let's head home."

Camile nodded, her team already prepared to move. "Understood, my Lord."

"Good. I'll meet you guys there." Adrian said, teleporting once more.

"Camile, who was that woman Master was with?" Charlotte asked.

"I'm not sure, actually," Camile replied.

**Adrian's Office**

Adrian and Mary appeared in his office and immediately noticed Anafabula sitting on the desk. She immediately recognized Mary.

"Mary, how are you?" Anafabula asked.

"I'm doing well, Lady Anafabula," Mary responded.

Anafabula looked over to Adrian, then asked, "So, what's the important issue you wanted to talk to me about?"

"Well..." Adrian slightly pushed Mary forward. "Mary here recently told me that she had, and still does, like me. While not immediate, the hopeful end result would be a pairing of three: Myself, you, and Mary."

Anafabula's reaction was indifferent. "I wouldn't mind," she said with a shrug. "Mary is a good person, and I trust her."

Adrian looked at Mary, who seemed a bit surprised but relieved by Anafabula's reaction. "Well, that settles it then," he said with a smile. "We'll figure this out together."

Mary smiled warmly, feeling a sense of belonging. "Thank you, Anafabula."

Anafabula nodded. "You're welcome."

"Wonderful, now it's time to get prepared for the meeting. Is thereanything we should know Mary?" Adrian asked.

"Outside of looking out for the Scarlet King throwing fit I'm not sure...wait there is one thing."

"That is?"

"Well....."
