This is a special weather statement. At 5.56 PM the National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for central and western Virginia until 8.00 pm. This storm currently located 10 miles from eastern part of Virginia and moving with 95 miles an hour. It is capable of causing damaging winds up to 70 miles per hour, severe lightening and flash flood across the central and western region cities. The visibility might reduce down to 1 mile. Please be advised and head back
to safe shelter areas at the earliest.' The emergency radio announced...
Ella Stone driving back home from her workplace with her bestie Samantha Reeds, freaked out.
"Chill girl, It's just a stupid announcement. Please don't tell me you are freaking out.''-Said Samantha staring at El
"What do you know, I'm the one driving' Ella said sarcastically.
"Don't you worry, we are gonna set that astraphobia straight' joked Samantha...
They both laughed!!
In about 5 minutes, the sky is full of very dark, large and low laying clouds. The temperature dropped drastically and the wind became dead calm. Just like right before a massive storm.
Ella tried to drive faster, but she had at least twenty mins before she reaches her home and this is such an unfamiliar and scary situation for her.
Soon after started an intense rain storm; the downpour was so intense- visibility reduced to dangerously low . Though El was just a few miles distance from her safe place but it was almost impossible for her to drive in such turbulence.
A Sudden lightning bolt crashed to the ground around radius giving a huge thrust to her car, El and Sam gasped and the deafening sound of thunder froze their thoughts. In a moment of extreme fear, she tried to turn her steering wheels to balance the impact but she was clueless. Her mind went blank and eyes went dark for a minute.
…...Thud...Screeeeeeeeeeeeeeechhhhhhhh...
A high-pitched sound and a rough jerk brought her back to her senses... As her horror's not over yet!!
'What did you do, El? Stop!' Sam Screamed on top of her voice...
El after regaining her senses pulled off the car....
'What the hell has just happened?' EL wailed...
"You just hit a bystander; He was trying to cross the road" said Sam while trembling ...
'oh god, no... no....I went blank after the thunderbolt....' El whimpered 'He isn't dead, is he?"
'I don't know, let's call 911 and just leave, this thunderstorm is far from over, it's going to be far more severe in next few minutes.'
'No, that's just wrong- what if he is hurt and need to get to ER?'
'Stop there! We can't make it back home if we waste another minute here... I'm calling 911... You drive.'
'No Sam, it's my fault... just wait let me check immediately...'
'Ugh You...'
El opened the door in that downpour, stepped out from her car and went back to check what has happened, so followed Sam....
'Wait, where is he...' El asked surprisingly after looking around!!
'I don't know, I saw you hit him...' Sam was confused 'I don't understand, let's just leave then'
'Sure, let's' El took a sigh of relief...
They were drenched through... But they had no other option than getting in the car... El steered and they both head back home.....
She reached home tired. There was a power outage considering the severe thunderstorm going on. She sure went to bed after changing her wet clothes and she slowly slipped into dreamland.
