Exploring the City

Luckas and his group were exploring the Strafhampton city market, the convoy arrived not long ago and Maria and Jonathan took them on a sightseeing trip.

Their eyes shone as they passed the nearby shops, Luckas was curious about all types of items, the group stopped and started looking at the items of a blacksmith

-" After receiving the rewards I'm gonna buy a sword like that" Jonathan was the most excited one from the group, when he followed Ballam to trade in the city he always wandered the shops but he didn't have any money.

The group tried their best to ignore him, every shop they passed by Jonathan declared that he was buying something, Byrth soon walked out and started to check the spears, while Luckas and Maria talked.

The two got quite close while they traveled, Maria was quite interested in all things about merchants so she was naturally interested in Luckas past, Luckas felt lucky that he was a transmigrator so he had a good understanding of complex systems like trade and economics from his past world.

-" A merchant should study the supply chain of the places he trade, if you know a territory that was a surplus of wheat in a certain period you can gather resources there and take them to a place where there is less volume trading." Luckas's explanation was a bit vague but nonetheless, everything he said made Maria speechless.

-" I think I understand, just like there is a lot of merchant going to the frontier now."

-" Yes, but there is more possibles scenarios that you could apply, droughts and other climatic anomalies are good opportunities, one could say that the main ability of a merchant is information management, if you knew about the conflicts in the border sooner you could gather more resources and even move them to the frontier sooner." Maria's eyes shone as Luckas continued his explanation, even Byrth paid attention to him.

The group evaluation of Luckas grew even more, he always appeared to be educated and courteous but hearing him explain those things made them think he was truly a young master who grew up being tutored by great teachers.

-" There is a lot of valuable information that one could gather to improve their profits, what is the production capacity, what goods they produce, and the expected demand of a determined area could seriously impact the rates of your profits."

Seeing everyone entertained by his explanation Luckas continued, he actually liked teaching them those things, he even thought that if his cultivation journey failed he would open a school or something of that nature.

The group continued to explore the market till dark and headed back to where the villagers would spend their next few days, Jothyr asked for them to come back early, Jeffrey the son of the Duke said that preparation for the rewarding ceremony would begin tomorrow so the group needed rest after a few chaotic days.

While the villagers rested in preparation for their big day, Jeffrey was wrecking his head, even if he had land to settle the villagers and money to fund the rewards the logistical work was still too much for it to be done in a few days.

-" How's the preparation going?" The space tore and Philips suddenly appeared in the room.

Jeffrey was caught in surprise, he didn't expect his granduncle to return so soon. He was torn in doubt, he was quite inexperienced in handling this type of matter so he could use some help on the other hand he wanted to do things himself to prove not only to his family but to the rest of the nobles of the territory that he too could be trusted when in needed.

With just a casual look Philips understood the emotions in Jeffrey's eyes, he was taken back to his youth. He too was the second son of the family, but the same heavy-duty that Jeffrey felt now, he too felt, they all loved the territory and their inhabitants, that why the two of them worked so hard.

Philips just like Jeffry never eyes the position of primary heir, they knew that position came with many burdens and demand way too many sacrifices, they were happy to help in the sidelines. But nonetheless, Philips was still forced to take the position of primary Heir, this didn't happen by greed or hidden schemes, it's was that Jeffrey's grandfather, his older brother was just too much of a weirdo.

-" You know just by asking tips your credits won't diminish, in fact learning when to seek help is one of the greatest strengths." Philips laugh as he said that sure he knew that, he just came back after asking for help from the Eternal Sun Sect.

-" I'm arent afraid of someone diminishing my deeds, it's just that I'm trying to prove my self-worth for the family." Jeffrey gazed downcast as Philips made fun of him.

-" What do you need to prove? We are a family, this much is sufficient proof that we all need." Philips insisted on making Jeffrey less stubborn.

Philips sighed as Jeffrey refused to ask for help in the preparations.

-" If you need me for something, just ask, don't need to be shy about it. Oh, I'm finally remembered, I just came back from the Eternal Sun Sect, they will send a group to keep an eye on Heigong." Philips news made Jeffrey sweat even more, it was as if he was putting more pressure on him on purpose.

-" When will they arrive?" Jeffrey gulped as he asked.

-" Who knows, but soon." Philips decided to have some fun with this situation.

Jeffrey nodded and focused even more, if representatives of the Eternal Sun Sect were present they sure would like to see the ceremony as it was related to the reason they were here.

Jeffrey only stopped working late at dawn, while Cyl was helping him with some matters like the gathering of seamstresses and artisans for the villager's clothes, most of them were in rags presenting them in front of nobles in their state would be too shameful.
