Coming Clean

Luckas woke up early and ate the inn breakfast, as he walked to the army dorms he made his mind to come clean to Cyl about his background, he knew that making more lies only would turn his situation worse, so he only could tell Cyl that he couldn't explain his situation, he hoped that Jeffrey would accept that.

Soon Luckas reached the arms dorms and meet the group, he could feel that they were really worried about him and tried to reassure them he was fine. After catching up with Luckas the entire group decided to visit the market, they wanted to buy a few things for the trip.

-" If you don't know what to do after this, you can come to the village and stay a few days there."

While the group shopped Ballam was trying to get Luckas to go with them. He knew that Luckas didn't have any relatives or friends in the city beside Byrth so he was afraid that Luckas would feel lonely here;

-" Don't worry. when I finish everything here I will go visit you guys." Luckas felt that Ballam was even more clingy now; " Jeffrey invited me to the army too, but, as I'm not from this territory i don't know if I would stay for very long;"

-" Think carefully with Byrth as his squire and even yourself having a good relationship with him joining the army could be a good opportunity, besides that, now you are a cultivator and having a backing would sure help." Jothyr interjected the conversation.

-" I thought about that, it's just that I still wanna travel the world more." The things that contributed the most to Luckas hesitancy were that he had gained a brand new life here, he wanted to explore the world, and being tied down here felt wrong.

-" If your future as a cultivator is prosperous, what you will have is time." It looked like Byrth was trying to tell Luckas to stay here too, but, he couldn't bring himself to be direct.

-" Yes, I know, I thought about having a conversation with Cyl about joining the army, if things goes well, who knows." Luckas tried his best to not confirm if he was staying or not, after all, that would be decided by Jeffrey.

The group finished the shopping trip and came back to the dorms, where they found Cyl.

-" Yo, I was waiting for you" Cyl was sitting on a bench near the entrance.

-" We will go today?" Luckas anxiety came instantly when he met him.

-" Yes, I will be quite busy these next following days, so I want to finish this fast."

Cyl's tone made Byrth annoyed, to him Cyl was disrespectful to Luckas and made light of the situation.

-"Luckas, why don't I go with you? It would be better to have someone with you."

Cyl could that Byrth was annoyed, he didn't bother too much about it, he was focused on matter about Luckas now, he just needed to make sure to not go that far.

-" Don't worry, Cyl will be accompanying me, and I should face this alone, maybe you should stop worrying so much about me." Luckas quickly denied Byrth suggestion. " If you are ready we can go now." Luckas looked firm and the group worries diminished a little.

Cyl was surprised, he thought that Luckas would be more hesitant in going with him, even more going alone. He knew that if Luckas was an enemy he would try his best to not be alone with him.

Cyl noded and ordered one of the guards following him to prepare a carriage. The carriage soon arrived and Luckas and Cyl departed, Byrth looked at the carriage in distance and sighed.

The atmosphere in the carriage was tense, Cyl sat directly in front of Luckas and stared at him, Luckas felt the suspicious gaze of Cyl on him and sighed, he knew that the right thing to do was come clean.

Luckas looked at Cyl with anxious eyes and coughed. " Sigh, I need to tell you something."

Cyl who was staring at him closed his eyes and smiled.

-" Oh, what it is? Can't you wait after we resolve this?" Cyl had a strange look in his face.

-" It's related to my backstory, I have some things to tell you."

-" Oh, new information? it could be useful to solve the whereabouts of your companions, it would be better for you until we arrive at our destination." Cyl smile grew wider.

-" Fuck, I should be more direct with you, there is no Leaflake Group." Luckas was almost out of patience, the way Cyl was acting made him feel sure that his lies were uncovered." I lied, there is no Leaflake Group I invented all of it, I was too afraid of the villagers not helping me."

-" So, who exactly are you? Normal people wouldn't have to hide their background." Cyl didn't understand why Luckas would try so hard to hide his past.

-" I'm not from this country, I'm from a faraway place, I'm not even from this continent, it's just I can't explain how I got here."

-" Are you from the central continent?" Cyl curiosity grew even more.

-" No, from a place even more distant."

Luckas answer shocked Cyl even more, he thought for a moment and took a stone from his pocket, as he held it, the stone started to shine. Luckas was curious about the stone, but he felt that he shouldn't ask questions about it.

-" There is another continent besides the Central continent and the Myr continent?" Cyl voice trembled as he asked, he didn't think that this conversation would take this turn.

Luckas shook his head which made Cyl even more confused, but before he could speak again a voice resonated from the stone.

-" He didn't mean that Cyl, Hey kid, are you from another plane?" The voice was euphoric, Luckas could recognize the voice.
