First Patient

On the 2nd floor of Miracle Clinic.

A man wearing a blue patient gown was laying on a hospital bed and a young man wearing his white coat was prancing around the floor anxiously.

"Why did he have to have a second-degree burn though thankfully it's on his hands," said Han breathing heavily.

[Host, I recommend you take a rest before you treat the patient].

"You have no idea how I carried that heavy man upstairs and I even had to change his clothes to the patient gown. Which reminds me why didn't you tell me they were in the table drawer? Another thing I demand is a nurse! I cannot do both things," said Han pissed.

The patient coughed on the bed weakly.

"We will come back to this topic, Sophie," said Han as he ran upstairs holding a bucket which he grabbed from the closet, in his hands.

Han climbed the stairs hurriedly and arrived in his room. He quickly entered the bathroom and filled the bucket with soapy water.

"Ugh, I cannot believe I have to do such things. Why couldn't we have a sanitization station on the 2nd floor?", said Han as he ran downstairs carrying the bucket in his hands.

[A Sudden Quest has been created]

[Quest Description: Treat your 1st patient]

[Quest Duration: An Hour]

[Reward: Level up, 5 Stat Points, and a Sanitization Station]

"At least you have a heart," commented Han looking at the reward. He arrived on the 2nd floor and walked towards the patient hurriedly.

'There is a severe infection since one of the blisters popped. He must have rubbed it on something,' thought Han analyzing the patient's hand thoroughly.

"Now let's get to work," said Han putting the bucket on the floor and wearing his mask and gloves. He sighed and pinched himself calming down, 'Let's treat our 1st patient in this world'.

Focusing on the injury, Han's careless demeanor changed. He grabbed the bucket and poured the soapy water on the injury trying to clean it thoroughly. 'It's not the best but this will have to do for now,' he thought noting the results. Putting the bucket down on the floor, he grabbed a tweezer from the 'Medications and Instruments room.

Walking back to the patient, Han used the tweezers to remove particles from the wound such as dirt and tree bark. He placed them on a tray. Grabbing the bucket again, he washed the burn removing the dead skin.

'Usually, back in the hospital we used 'Silver Sulfadiazine' cream for the burns what should I use now?' Han contemplated.

[Host can replace it with Healing Ointment instead]

Han nodded and put the bucket back down on the floor and rushed to the 'Medications and Instruments' room. He grabbed A Healing Ointment tube. Exiting the room, he entered the closet beside It and grabbed some dressing.

Walking back to the patient, Han opened the healing ointment and applied it to the burn gently. Putting the ointment aside, he grabbed the dressing and wrapped it around the hand loosely. If he wrapped it too tightly then the patient's circulation might be cut off.

Han sighed, feeling relieved. "I have to prescribe him some medicine because he's still in danger of infection and his body is heating up."

[You have completed the quest]

[You have been given rewards]

[You have leveled up]

[You have obtained 5 Stat Points and a Sanitization Station]

Suddenly, a Sanitization Station appeared beside his table.

Han smiled looking at his new Sanitization Station and the notifications. "Now at least the burden will be less since I won't have to run to the bathroom" He sighed frustratingly.

"Anyways, what would the total of his treatment be, Sophie?" asked Han.

[Calculating…]

[Healing Ointment Used- 17 Silver Coins

Dressing Used- 60 Copper Coins

Soapy Water Used- 5 Copper Coins

Tweezer Used- 1 Copper Coin]

Han snickered looking at the cost of the treatment he just did. "Nice that you are calculating everything. Let us see Tweezer, not sure we can even make them pay for that but ok. Healing Ointment, I thought it would be more expensive. Why do the soapy water and the dressing cost that much?" he asked curiously.

[The Soap used in the water costs 5 Copper Coins and the Dressing is made of premium gauze and cotton wool. Host, continue to trust the prices assigned by the system.]

Han nodded hearing this information since he did not care how much It cost. He looked at the patient on the bed with a wide grin on his face. "Oh, another thing I am going to prescribe him Penicillin for his infection/Fever. How much would that cost?" he asked.

[Penicillin is a priceless antibiotic in this world so the price will depend on how the Host decides on using the medicine on each patient. Since the Host is using it for Infection/Fever the cost will be 30 Silver coins]

Han's heart was experiencing pure pleasure hearing the price. 'That is how it should be. Soon enough I will get to experience my lifelong dream,' he thought clenching his hands in excitement.

Han rolled his white chair in front of the patient's bed and sat on it crossing his legs. "Let's wait for the patient to wake up and give him the good news," he said reclining his chair.

A Few Hours Later, At Night. On the Clinic's 2nd floor.

A man who was laying on the hospital bed fluttered his eyes and groaned as he became fully conscious. 'W-where am I?' the man wondered realizing he was laying on something extremely comfortable. 'I remember that fire bastard throwing a tier 5 Fireball at me. For a second, I thought I would not survive and ran to the forest outside the war zone. I remember seeing how hideous my hand looked. I would have to buy a Tier 3 Recovery potion which is extremely valuable. I see no hope of recovering my hand,' many thoughts went through his mind as his conscience was freshly awakened.

The man tried getting up and looking around the floor. After groaning and some discomfort he finally was able to get up and look at his surroundings. He was caught by surprise looking at the beautiful young man in a white coat napping in front of him. 'Could he be the one who cured me? Seeing the white coat, is he a physician?' he wondered.

[Host, get up. Your patient is now conscious]. An alarm rang in Han's mind.

Han woke up in a panic after hearing Sophie's alarm. He looked at the patient who woke up cluelessly and smiled. "Hello, Sir. I am the Physician who treated you. How are you?" he asked.

The man nodded. "You cured me," he whispered thinking it was unbelievable that his injury could be cured.

"Yes, now could you please answer some of my questions? I ask for some cooperation," said Han politely.

"Sure, though there might be some questions I can't answer," said the man nodding.

"What is your name?" asked Han.

"Marston Vermillion," replied the man.

Han nodded and said, "What's your age, Sir?"

"That is quite rude, but I will answer it since you asked for cooperation. I am 47 years old", said Marston proudly.

"Have you had any health problems in the past," asked Han seriously.

"Not really except that I do get a lot of cuts and wounds during work. I cannot prevent it since it is inevitable," said Marston shrugging.

Han nodded and said, "Then my last question for you sir, do you take any other medications or potions regularly?"

"I do drink potions often," said Marston.

"That will be it and thank you for the cooperation," said Han. 'I am so glad I do not have to note these down and make records like hospitals. Sophie will just record his answers and make a file for the patients. What would I do without you, Sophie?' He thought happily.

"How do you feel, Sir Marston? "Do you think you will be able to walk anytime soon," asked Han walking up to the patient.

"Hahaha…what are you saying, young man? This old man is still in good health and my injury does not even hurt anymore," said Marston looking at his bandaged left hand cheerfully.

Han nodded. "Then when would you like to pay the bill," he said smiling.

Marston deadpanned immediately, "Just put it on my tab," he said nervously.

Han's smile vanished and he sat down on his chair, crossing his legs. "Listen here, Sir. You are not going to leave this place until you pay the bill," he declared. 'Why is the patient poor, I thought he was rich seeing the sword.'

[The Host can take valuable items for the bill as well. I can help the Host see the value of the sword].

Han's expression lightened, 'I did not know we could take items. Now that is useful.' He looked at the sword on the floor underneath the hospital bed.

[Item: A Magic Sword].

[Price: 50 Silver Coins]

Han rubbed his eyes as he saw the unbelievable price of the item. 'I was right! He is a rich patient,' he smirked excitedly.

"The bill is 17 Silver and 66 Copper Coins. If you do not have coins then how about giving me an item instead," said Han.

'It does sound like a good offer, but why does it feel like a shady deal,' thought Marston conflicted. 'I left my token and my money inside the warzone camp. I will have to exchange it for something. I did have a few trinkets on me,' he thought. He touched his body to find the pocket where he had the trinkets and immediately realized he was wearing something else weirdly airy.

"Where are my clothes and belongings," asked Marston stupefied.

"Your belongings and your clothes are on the table beside you," said Han pointing at the table.

"Who changed me?" asked Marston.

"Secret…," said Han coughing. "Anyways, what do you have to offer," he asked.

"There are a few valuable trinkets in my coat's inner pocket," said Marston sighing.

Han nodded and searched for the coat, finding 2 trinkets that looked like broaches. He analyzed them.

[Item: Green Protective Broach

Price: 10 Silver Coins]

[Item: Red Protective Broach

Price: 10 Silver Coins].

"They will be just fine to cover the costs," said Han grabbing both broaches and putting them in his pockets.

"Then since I am feeling fine now. Can I leave?" asked Marston hurriedly.

Han smiled and said, "No, you had a severe infection on your skin. Which is why I need to prescribe your medicine. It costs 30 Silver Coins".

Electricity exploded in Marston's mind. "Do I have to take this medicine? I can just drink a potion later," he said.

"Though I do not know if the potion will be effective or not. Take my prescribed medicine. "If you do not take it, your hand might be in danger of amputation in the future," said Han as he went into the 'Medications and Instruments' room and grabbed 14 tablets of Penicillin.

Exiting the room, Han walked to his table and grabbed a small paper bag. He put the tablets in it and sealed it.

"These tablets cost 30 Silver which will save your hand", said Han walking up to Marston.

Marston gulped he could not imagine what would happen if his hand were amputated. He nodded and said, "Take my sword, that's all I have left."

Han nodded and handed the paper bag to him. "Take these tablets for 2 weeks and change your wound's dressing regularly. If anything happens visit me again," he said smiling.

Marston took the tablets seriously.

"Now I think you should dress up and leave," said Han walking downstairs. 'I'll get the sword later,' as he thought of dealing with the patient first.

'How can you just leave me here,' thought Marston stupefied. He got up, put on his clothes, and put the paper bag in his inner pocket. "I am feeling good, that was a nice rest. Now let us get back to work though I will have to pick up a new sword," he said scratching his head awkwardly. Sighing, he walked downstairs.
