Pure Magic

After the Sparring Session, Arina, Serena and Luz went to settle down in their dorms. This time, they weren't so fortunate to have the same room together. Instead, Serena shared a room with Staria, Luz with a girl she had never met before and Arina shared a room with Vanessa.

"Vanessa! It's good to see you again."

"But we saw each other on the bus, remember."

"Oh, yeah." Arina awkwardly laughed it off, feeling a bit embarrassed.

Vanessa just smiled. She was still the same beautiful, nice pink-haired girl as before.

"What was your manifestation like?" Vanessa asked her on a whim as they took out their luggage and placed them in their new room. Vanessa had already customized it with pink drapes on the windows and a framed picture of a black cat hung in the centre. Her bed sheet was a black one with various poker cards drawn on it in a cool black, white and red color.

By manifestation, Vanessa referred to the first time Arina's Casting traits had appeared.

"Oh, yeah. The night I turned fifteen, golden balls of light started appearing one by one until they filled my entire bedroom. It was enchanting but kind of scary." Arina told her. "What about you?"

"Oh, me? Well I was just walking on the street one day, minding my own business when suddenly black cats started following me around the place. I tried to get away from them but they wouldn't stop following me, then umbrellas escaped from people's hands and began to surround my head. It was a good thing though because it started to rain. That was just a few days before my fifteenth birthday." Vanessa narrated to her.

They talked some more until they were done moving in their Items.

The next day was the first day of school so Arina woke up very early in the morning. She took a bath, brushed her teeth and fixed her hair. She ate cereal, then got her clothes which were the ones she had worn the previous day and was all set to go. At the same time, Vanessa was also done getting prepared.

In less than ten minutes, they had arrived at their class. It was on a different tower this time and were not aware of this but the two had met up with Serena and Luz who informed them.

They got to the class and were early because only a few people were there. There was Zane, Kasami, Zuro and Raine.

"Hey, Arina, Luz, Serena and Vanessa." Raine called their names one after the other as she rushed over to meet them. Kasami and Zane followed her too.

"Hey, Raine!" The four of them answered back with smiles on their face.

"Hey, there."

"Ah!!" Arina shouted shortly as she heard a deep voice from behind her which caused her to jump back a bit. She turned around to see a boy with black hair that covered his left eye. It was Zuro, a boy in her class she hadn't associated with before.

"Oh, hi Zuro." She replied to him.

Soon after, everyone was gathered in Class D. There didn't seem to be any new student this time. Kento was also still their teacher.

He had entered the class, looking mostly the same but longer hair but still the same vibrant and kind soul with a handsome face.

"It's so good to see you all again." Kento said, smiling and the class smiled back at him.

Kento started the class as he picked up the marker and wrote the words 'Pure Magic' on the board.

"Okay, class. The first lesson I'll be teaching you on is how to use Pure Magic."

"What?" The Class asked in confusion, having never heard of the term.

"What's the difference between Pure Magic and the regular magic we use."

"I'm glad you asked that, Kasami. Pure Magic is the dormant magic in you, the magic that has not yet been changed to Casting through the activation of a Spell."

"It is white in color and can be used for thing such as protection in the form of barriers. It can even be an enhancer for the Spells you use depending on how good you are at using it. You can also use it to speed up the cooldown of Drach Weapons. It's especially useful as it can be activated even if you have no Open Gems left on your Charm." Kento explained to them in details and they were amazed.

"Can you use it to strengthen others?" Yuri asked him and he nodded.

"Yes, it can. The only reason you weren't taught how to use it in your First Year was because the magic in you had to grow past Stage 5 before you're able to use it." Kento thought he was done explaining it but he then remembered something else about it.

"You can also use it to power machines like the Krueger and Queen Family. Speaking of which, by the end of the final session, you will have to choose which Family you are going to be serving or create your own under one of them. You may also create an independant Family of your own but it is extremely difficult without any financial backing from a current Family." Kento informed them and the class began to discuss.

"Which family would you like to go to, Serena?" Arina asked her friends who were now sitting at the left and right side of her as she was unsure of her decision.

"I'd like to go to the Queen Family. They're abilities and skills really suit my Casting trait. Plus I could do research." Serena gave her answer. Always the intellectual one.

"I prefer to go to the Hotodari's." Luz replied without giving any particular reason and that further confused Arina.

Kento clapped his hands and the class stopped their discussing.

"Let's get to the physical training of Pure Magic." The seats and desks disappeared and the students ended up falling on their butts.

"Ow!" They all complained about their sudden fall.

"Oops, sorry." Kento apologized before beginning the lesson.

After the lesson, before going to their other class, Yuri asked Zake for a request.

"I need you to help me with something. Meet me at 11 pm behind the Academy." Yuri didn't even ask but just straight up told him but Zake didn't care since it seemed really important to Yuri by the look in his eyes.

"Okay." Zake replied.
