Arina Uzukire!

The Earth, being filled with four distinct races had some of its sectors split up into zones with a particular race as the dominant resident in that area. The Quadrant races apart from their different abilities and lack of abilities also had different tastes when it came to things such as construction and color scheme so it would be easy to discern a Seraph dominant zone from a Caster dominant one.

On one of the major human dominant cities of Earth in the nation of Neon, the city of Syria, there was a teenage girl who went by the name, Arina Uzukire. And boy, was she panicking about the recent development.

She was rummaging through her closet, trying to sort out the clothes and items she needed and the ones she didn't need while her mind ran rampant. I mean, why wouldn't she?

She had just gone through what was known as an 'awakening', unlocking a part of herself she never knew she had. Not to mention the fact that her parents had been lying to her her entire life. Although, she had already assured them that she was not angry or upset with them, much to their utter relief and shock.

"You really aren't mad at us." Her mother uttered, standing next to her father, both having worried looks on their faces by what their daughter had just said.

"But sweetie, we've lied to you your whole life. It's okay if you're a bit mad at us. You don't have to keep in your emotions, you know?"

Arina nodded to them and just gave them a simple smile, "Maybe I was a bit astonished at first but... You guys have been there for me the whole time, really treating me as your daughter." It felt really weird for her saying this to who she thought was her blood family only a few hours ago. "Dad, you taught me how to defend myself by teaching me how to fight, even though I never really understood why.

"And mom, you helped me get through the tough times by being my emotional support. You've both been very awesome so I'm glad I'm your daughter.

"So I don't think I need to be upset over everything."

Arina reminisced while picking a hairband with a strange knife like pattern on it. She turned to her big mirror that almost all girls had and took a big look at her reflection.

"Maybe I shouldn't go with it. Before I give everyone the confused emo-cheerleader impression. Not that I think that about myself." She had long, tangerine orange hair which was fairly wide reaching down to her waist which slightly complimented her yellowish-gold eyes depending on the person who looked at her.

Her skin was white, the usual caucasian color and she was of average body weight with slight and I mean faintly visible muscle, maybe just a bit more than the normal girl. As for her facial features, they made her an attractive young girl, although she was unaware of it, "I never really liked my eye color. Oh, dang. I just remembered. I'm going to boarding school!" She panicked yet again.

Like mentioned before, the Casters had invented institutions to help their fellow kind develop their magical abilities and her parents had pulled some strings and managed to get Arina a chance to be admitted to the school. Even though the latter was still at a crossroads for how she felt about it.

For one, she thought it would be amazing to go out and discover her true self by staying among those of her age and race. But on the other hand, there was a possibility that she would be unprepared for the dangers and challenges that came along with it, like any major decision on one's life.

"Come downstairs, Arina dear. The bus could arrive at any moment." She rushed downstairs, even though she was still indecisive.

The warm scent of her mother's cooking rushed into her nose, although her father was the one holding the plate of breakfast which she hadn't had yet. She munched down on ir, trying to distract herself while her mother packed in some lunch and dinner for later in her backpack.

Seeing that after finishing her meal sealed her fate. Now she was definitely going to the boarding school for Casters which was known as My Caster Academia.

Arina wore a red and white shirt with sleeves that had multiple sun patterns with a blue skirt and yellow shoes. She had a height of about 5 foot 8 inches.

Her mother, Rita was a woman who looked to be in her late thirities looked at her and sighed,"I know what you're thinking. But you have to, sweetie. You're a Caster. It's in your nature to learn and improve your abilities."

"And it shouldn't be hard when my precious sun has such an awesome Casting trait. So it will be fine. We just want the best for you, we don't want to feel like we're holding you back from the world." Her father, King followed up with his wife's statement and the teenage girl sighed, shrugging it off.

"Oh, fine." She folded her arms. "But I'm not going to like it." She spoke to make it look like she hadn't given up.

Her parents hugged and kissed her as she walked out of her home which wasn't too big or too small.

"Good luck, my precious! I know you'll pass!" Arina heard as she went through the gate. Her admission wasn't going to be a walk in the park because there was a test. A lot of Casters across the nation yearned to be admitted into MCA as it was the most prestigious academy for Casters in Neon so of course, not everyone would just be allowed to be admitted. The Academy chose quality over quantity as they wouldn't want the parents of the students have to waste money if such students is unable to maintain the standards of the school.

It sounded incredibly scary to most and the cherry on top was, the test changed almost every year so it would be impossible to perfectly prepare for it and having just found out about her identity, she felt like she had the biggest disadvantage.

"Alright, Arina. Calm yourself. This is gonna be fine, it's going to be okay. You're a Caster so this should all come naturally to you." She convinced herself in her head but didn't even know she was saying it out loud, causing some bypassers to stare, much to her profound embarrassment.

She stood at the bus stop and didn't have to wait five seconds more as a futuristic bus pulled up in front of her. It was painted blue while there was a print on it, writing 'My Caster Academia' in bold. She took in a deep breath, her heartbeat accelerated as the door slided open and with one brave step forward, she walked in as the bus drove away.

She walked around, looking for an open seat as most of the Casters in the bus spoke to their friends, making her feel more alienated. She walked to the very back of the bus where a girl with glasses could be seen sitting by herself which made her stand out.

Like most of the other candidates, the girl was around her age with short blue hair and purple eyes. She was a bit shorter and looked more antisocial as her chin rested on her fist. She had an outstanding backpack becuase it was probably filled with mechanical equipment as a wrench and screwdriver could be seen sticking out of it.

She also had a waist bag that had a special radiance to it. It seemed that almost all the kids on the bus had either a waistbag or crossbag of some sort on them that had the same look to it, Arina had noticed, feeling even more like a sore thumb.

"Oh..." She noticed her presence and formed a comforting smile on her face as if she was a professional when it came to making friends. "Hi! I'm Serena Akanabe. You can sit right here." She patted on where she should sit which she did.

"Thank you and nice to, uh, meet you. I'm Arina Uzukire." She smiled nervously but Serena smiled back too, feeling equally nervous.

"Arina, Serena. Our names rhyme." She expressed.

"Yeah, they do, don't they." Arina replied and they both laughed, the awkward air had disappeared for both of them. They had quickly become friends, "Well, I guess you're a Caster too."

"Yeah, of course."

"If I could, can I see it? Just a bit." She requested, wanting to see her casting trait and quite nicely too, much to the other's surprise.

"Oh, sure. Okay." Serena began, closing her eyes and beginning to concentrate deep. Arina kept quiet, not wanting to break her focus. A blue, dim sparkle emanated from her hands and for just a second or two, the other Casters stopped talking as they felt the vehicle go up. It was floating in a blue mist but it stopped quickly after it had begun.

Serena wiped sweat from her forehead, "I haven't gotten my Charm so I can only do that much." Suddenly, the bus driver glared in her direction as if knowing it was her that had caused the vehicle to levitate and she glared back with an almos robotic stare on her face. The vehicle driver turned away, slightly off put.

Arina acknowledged that she was a bit antisocial, "Wow! You're impressive anyway. All I can do is make balls of light appear and I can't even control it."

"Haha, balls!" An immature boy close to them laughed and they glared at him with intent to harm and he minded his business. The girls turned to each other before laughing.

Before they knew it, they could see themselves arriving into a Mixed City. A city occupied by both Humans and Casters known as Solike City. It was a modern city but not too modern in certain areas which had most of their roads unpaved and the buildings weren't really tall either.

They passed through the city and looked like they were going seemingly nowhere until the bus had passed through a purple forcefield of some sort and they could now see the Academy.

"Welp..." Arina stared at Serena who was equally excited at what was in store for them, "Here we go."
