"I don't want you to see how far from normal I am."
Seth held his sides while he talked, embracing himself and trying to contain the darkness.
It looked like his face was cracking up with various dark lines growing into his face and down his neck, starting from his eyes. They looked like coal-black tears.
There was a contrast of glowing yellow light and patches gnawing at his cheeks down to the nape of his neck. He felt so hot that he couldn't put the intensity into words even if he wanted to.
"You were scared of me that night."
He forcefully took another step backwards against the will of the darkness. It felt like a million hornets were impaling him from every side each time he worked against his powers.
"I saw it in your eyes, Melody... and you're scared now."
Melody's eyebrows were straight and flat when he said this. Her lips parted slightly to add to her widened eyes and distraught face.
