Ellena's POV
I felt a sense of relief after talking to Mina. Now, I returned to Mr. August's office to finish my work. The end of the day was approaching, and I didn't want to leave any tasks unfinished for tomorrow—it would just pile up and give me a headache.
Mr. August was still engrossed in his documents, not even noticing when I came back and sat down. His eyes never once glanced in my direction, even though I'd been stealing glances at him since I entered the room.
"Could he know where I went earlier?" My mind was distracted by even small things like this. Mr. August's every move towards me is always surprising and unpredictable. But in moments like this, I become even more afraid that he's planning something, though I can't figure out what.
