CHAPTER 3

Days went by so also did weeks that Samantha has being working for Mr Coleman and everyday she tried to be her best in everything she does and learnt to take things the way they come and also learnt the hard way not to argue with him. she wants to build a nice relationship between her and her boss but he is so not into the fact that she has that part of her active or whatever you could call it. he was so sure that she was only meant to work and work and no fun, he saw her like that kind of lady.

on the other hand, Mira hasn't seen her friend for a month and it felt like they were drifting apart slowly from each other and that was no fun for her even tho they were working together, the main reason why she asked Sam to work in the same place as her so they can always be together but everything doesn't seem as it is anymore. so she decided to pretend she was sick just to get a whole day with her best friend but she needed to talk to Sam about it so she went to her work place to find her...

"How in God's name did you people fuck this up? I asked you guys to get me this offer and you didn't? now I lost a contract worth millions, I hate that I have to do this every single time to you guys are you people dumb or something? my God!!" Mr Coleman was up on his voice in the meeting room when he asked his employees to get a simple contract done but they couldn't and Sam on the other hand wasn't involved in the process but she was also shouted at. then there and then she knew she couldn't hold up anymore of his stupidity and arrogance then she looked at him and raised up her hands interrupting him in the process, then he smirked

"yes miss carpenter" he said facing her

"I would like to say this, personally, right now, the possibilities of getting this contract was not sure in the first place" she said smiling

"oh is that so? could you explain further please?" he said smiling then switched back very fast

"thank you, in the beginning, to start with, why weren't you on this contract I mean you are the boss why didn't you guide them like a normal boss would?" she asked smiling and looking straight into his eyes just then one of the workers stood up abruptly and said

"AM SO SORRY SIR!! SHE DIDN'T MEAN ANYTHING SHE SAID!! SO SORRY SIR PLEASE FORGIVE HER AND WE ARE SO SORRY FOR OUR INCOMPETENCE !!" he said looking at Sam giving her signs to shut the hell up and drop the matter but Sam didn't give care about what he is feeling like or not so she continued to look at him and patiently waited for an answer.

Then there was silence all over the room if a pin could drop it would be very loud and clear, the rest of the workers were in serious jeopardy it legit felt they were going to loose their jobs and everyone was smiling sheepishly and shaking except Sam she was the only one that was furious and then he busted into serious laughter, this made the remaining employees scared to death because he never laughs and now of all times he decided to laugh. He laughed for a while, and then looked at her and nodded then laughed again then the HOD(head of department)decided to talk he then raised his finger and then he shut his mouth immediately then he looked at her and finally said

"are you saying you guys are incompetent? you can't do anything right without me?" he paused for a second after asking the questions and when she was about to reply him, he cut her off and continued

"I would gladly fire all of you one after the other if you can't do anything without me being around" then he faced the remaining workers who sat there thinking about their life and everything flashing before their eyes "you guys have got to be kidding me, is this how you plan on loosing your jobs? because this is going to work I bet you" he had stopped smiling now, he is back to his normal self, the grumpy rude attitude but Samantha wasn't ready to give up yet then she laughed out very loud and said

"I asked you a question, sir why didn't give an answer to my question Mr Coleman" she asked then he frowned, his eyebrows summing up, his face as strong as ever

"miss Carpenter, could I see you in my office right now?" he asked standing up and slamming the door behind him. It was then she knew she had fucked up. She knew then and there she had lost her job but she didn't act like she was going to be pained by it so she followed him almost immediately because staying any longer in that room, she was going to be devoured by the other people. She stop at his door entrance then was about to knock he opened the door for her and she saw his face he feet froze for a second, she didn't know maybe to run away or enter finally she entered and he locked the door behind them

she was really expecting him to really say something about what had happened but he didn't say anything but stood by the door and looked straight at her. there was silence everywhere atleast for 3 minutes straight so she decided to break the silence between them

"umm so um what is the reason why am here sir?" she managed to ask

he continued to look at her he then asked a out of the blue question

"do you enjoy this?" he said moving closer to her little by little

"e enjoy wh what" she started to stammer

"the fact that you are always right, but the thing, the annoying thing you do is trying to prove me wrong but you don't always have good facts to back yourself up!" he said with his voice raising at the last word

"please, I know you are about to fire me you can but not the people in that room their lives depend on this job sir" she said ignoring what he just said

"and your life doesn't depend on this?" he asked and suddenly feeling the urge to hold her and kiss her lips because damn that lips looked ravishing enough for him to walk up to her and kiss her but he took a deep breath and turned and went over to his desk and sat down on his chair

"I could get another job, I have just started here while them have spared most of their lives to work for you, so there is a difference" she said after she watched him take a serious deep breath and walked over to his seat and wondered if she is causing him troubles for him to breath like that "I would drop my resignation letter by tomorrow and I will clear my desk right now" she added then he smiled, she had just noticed, his smile was so unreal, so nice and his face was so cute at that moment she had to shake that thought off her when she heard him speak but didn't grab a word

"huh!" she said

"I was saying, you could do all of those things but one"

"which is"

"your resignation letter, I won't collect it. True you will be moving out of your office and that's because you are being demoted"

"huh??" she was confused

"I know right, this is going to be fun"

"and where am I being demoted to"

"you will be my new secretary and everywhere I go, you go, how fun is that!!"

"your secretary??"

"yes" he said standing up and went over to her and repeated "my secretary". she felt dizzy, her legs became weak and looked up to this nicely built grumpy man with the most annoying behaviour, and she is about to be spending more of her time with him. No, no, no, no, she was going to loose her mind staying that close to him, without even being that close to him she has lost part of her senses already and she blunted out "NO! I refuse"

"It's not like you have a choice here Miss Carpenter" he said and her hearing that, almost made her fall and the fact that he was in her face, she hated it so she decided to move back a little then her leg didn't balance well then she tripped and almost fell but he caught and grabbed her by the waist. he was looking into her eyes and her lips at the same time, it took every fiber of strength in him not to kiss her, it took everything he had in him not to grab her and pressed himself against her... he was mad into her and now he knew it....
