23 Hours Till The World Five
I stared at the screen, reading the names of the players on the World Five team and their data.
"Julien Loki?" Kurona mumbled faintly.
A slight grin formed on my lips when I glanced at Julien Loki's analysis. It was very funny to me when he first appeared in the manga. He was unmistakably a parody of Mbappe in Blue Lock. The World Five players were merely fictional characters in the manga.
Coming from a world where there is a Mbappe, I wondered if Mbappe exists here or if he's just Julien Loki.
I took a shower and then got into bed. 'Since I basically passed the second selection, am I done with the permanent challenge?' I was curious, so I asked Lisa to open the FUT quest. The permanent challenge menu appeared shortly after.
[Permanent Challenge]
Second Selection Challenges
Successfully clear the first stage (3000 system points, 900 system cash) [Cleared]
Successfully clear the second stage (5000 system points, 1500 system cash) [Cleared]
Successfully clear the third stage (7000 system points, 2100 system cash) [Cleared]
Successfully clear the fourth stage (9000 system points, 2700 system cash) [Cleared]
*Successfully clear the fifth stage (15000 system points, 9000 system cash)
*Defeat the World Five to successfully clear the fifth stage.
The match with the World Five appears to be the fifth stage. That means that in order to earn rewards for the fifth stage, I would have to defeat the World Five. But at least the status that indicated I would lose the system if I didn't make it through Blue Lock's second selection is no longer visible, so it has been removed. I guess it's no longer here since I would still be in Blue Lock with either a win or a loss versus the World Five.
I was lost in thought when Lisa started talking, which brought my focus back to the system.
"System reminder: a system update is now available." Lisa reminded.
The message first appeared when I earned the rewards for the fourth stage. But I held it off for a while since I wanted to hear what Ego had to say. Not only that, but I can't just do an update anywhere due to the physical and mental attacks associated with the updates.
But before I could begin the update, I needed to make a few purchases in the FUT shop. The prices and grade values of the items appear to rise with each update. So I had to use it while it was still affordable.
I would need to have more weapons in my arsenal because the World Five are so strong. So I instructed Lisa to open the shop menu.

I made the decision to buy a few things from the shop even though I only had 2,900 system cash to spare. For 1500 system cash, I purchased a 1x Random Skill, and for 1200 system cash, I upgraded my Grade C skills (Chipshot and Explosive Long-Range Skill). This left me with 200 system cash remaining.
But after upgrading my Explosive Long-Range Skill, a system message popped up saying...
"+2 points have been added to all shooting stats. An additional +2 would be added after every upgrade."
I decided to hold off on buying elixirs because it won't be necessary now as each one is of the C-tier, upgrading the system first before purchasing the elixirs would be more beneficial. By upgrading the system, I can unlock higher-grade items in the shop, including more effective elixirs. But I couldn't overlook the item listed as "Flow" so I asked Lisa to read me the details.
"Flow is a one-time active ability that can be used to achieve a flow state in a match. There is no time restriction; however, how long it can be used will depend on how long the user can maintain and function well in this state. When used, stamina depletes much more quickly and, if used longer than your body could keep up, could harm the user."
Actually triggering a flow state in a match was interesting. I didn't have enough funds for that, but I later instructed Lisa to exchange 150 system points for 900 system cash and buy it right away.
Finally, It was time to begin the system update.
'I'm ready, do it now.' I thought inwardly as I asked Lisa to upgrade the system.
"Sure, The system update would begin shortly..."

I had undergone a system update for the first time without feeling any pain; it was very unusual for me. However, I inadvertently fell asleep as the update concluded.
