Chapter 6

Feeling embarrassed, she jogged up to the elevator in case he decided to follow her. She went straight to her twin sister Celia's room and found that it was empty. She went to the nurse's desk.

"Hi, can you tell me where the patient, Celia Ashlyn, went?" Plumeria asked her.

"Let me check. One moment, please." She told her and checked her computer.

A moment later, she found her records.

"Miss Ashlyn was taken away to get some tests done." the nurse told her.

"She's okay, right?" she asked with concern.

"Yes. The tests are just normal procedures before she is discharged." the nurse told her with a reassuring smile.

"Okay, thank you." she told her, feeling relieved. "How long will it take?" she asked.

"She was taken just a few minutes ago, so maybe 30-45 minutes.

"Thank you." She told her with a smile.

"You're welcome.' the nurse smiled back at her.

She looked at her watch and decided to go to her psychiatrist.

She goes to the psychiatric department and passes by a room full of children. She just took a few steps away from the room when she heard someone playing a guitar.

She walked back to the room and saw a man playing a guitar, surrounded by children. They were all listening to him play without running around.

When he finished playing for them, they clapped for him.

"You're so cool. One day I want to play the guitar just like you." A kid told him with a bright smile on his face.

Finn smiled and pinched his cheek gently.

"Well then, you better take your medicines on time and get well soon." He told him and added. "The nurses complain a lot that you make trouble for them whenever it's time for you to take medicine."

"It tastes horrible." the little boy complained.

"Let's make a deal. If you take your meds like a good boy and stop making things hard for the nurses, then I'll buy you a guitar. How does that sound?" he asked her.

"And you promise?" the boy asked with his eyes sparkling with hope.

"Yes. do you promise me as well?" Finn asked him.

The boy nodded excitedly.

"What about me?"

"And me?"

"Don't forget me."

The children started making noises.

"Write down one thing you want me to buy and on the day you go home i promise to buy the thing you wrote down. Sounds good?" he asked them.

"Yes." they all cheered and scattered around to find themselves paper and pen.

Plumeria smiled.

'Such a kind person.' she thought.

A girl saw her and smiled while pointing at her.

"Look, it's Plumeria!" She said excitedly and ran up to hug her.

The rest of the kids saw her and also ran up to her excitedly.

Finn turned around to look at her and was shocked to see her.

"Plum?" he asked her, standing there.

She looked at him, confused.

"Do I know you?" she asked him.

"It's me. Finn. Levi's younger brother." he told her.

"Oh." she said in a surprised tone.

He walked towards her, smiling brightly.

"It's been so long. It's so good to see you. How have you been?" he asked her, smiling from ear to ear.

"Do you know Finn?" a girl asked.

'No, because I don't remember a thing from the past.' she thought, looking at her with a smile.

"Yes, I know him. We used to play around when we were friends." Plumeria lied to her.

"The kids know you." Finn said.

"Yeah, I play with them sometimes or read them a story." She told him and caressed the children's head. "What about you?"

"I donated money for the kids who didn't have money to get treated and thought that I would stop by and meet them." He told her.

"That's so nice of you." she told him.

"No, it's really nothing. I have more than enough money to spare and it's good to help others and make things easier for them." he told her.

She smiled and looked down at the kids around her.

"It is." she said.

"Did you bring us chocolate, Plumeria?" a boy asked.

"I gave you all chocolate yesterday. Too much sweets is bad for you guys." she told them.

The little boy pouted sadly.

"I'll bring you some candy when I visit on the weekend." She promised.

He was happy hearing that.

"Now all of you scatter. I have an appointment with my doctor." She told them and they all went away and started playing with each other.

She giggled, looking at them.

"Are you hurt?" He asked her in a slightly worried tone.

"Mmm… no. I have an appointment with my psychiatrist. I have a severe case of panic attack." She told him.

"You didn't have it before." he said with a frown.

"I had an accident and ever since then I get panic attacks whenever I see blood or hear a really loud sound." She told him.

"I see." He told her. "Well, if it's not too much to ask, then do you want to hang out? You know, catch up on all the years we missed out on." he told her.

"Sorry, but I don't think I will be free today." She told him apologetically.

"Oh." he said in a slightly upset tone, thinking that she didn't want to spend time with him.

"Maybe tomorrow?" she asked him.

His expression got brightened and then he remembered that he had a meeting at the office tomorrow.

"How about dinner? I won't be free in the afternoon or evening." he told her.

"Dinner works for me." she told him with a smile.

"Awesome. Can you give me your number so I can contact you?" he asked her.

"Sure." she told him.

He took out his phone from his back pocket and gave it to her. She typed in her number and gave it back to her. He saved her after giving her a call.

"That's my number." he told her.

"I'll save it later." She told him and looked at the time. "It was nice talking with you, but I have to go to my appointment." She told him.

"Of course, of course." he told her and added. "I'll see you tomorrow night."

She nodded at him with a smile.

"See you tomorrow." She told him and walked away from him.

"Well, at least he's nicer than his older brother." She mumbled, walking to her doctor's office.

Outside the doctor's office, a nurse was sitting at the desk and working at her computer.

"Hey, I have an appointment with Dr. Stone." she told her.

The nurse looked at her and recognized her immediately.

"She will be with you in five minutes." The nurse told her in a soft tone.

"Thank you." She told her with a smile and sat down at one of the benches while waiting for her turn.

After five minutes, she was called in.

"Good afternoon, Plum. How's your day going?" Lisa asked her in a soft tone as she came inside her office.

"Against my will." She told her. "But that's not what I want to talk about."

Lisa gestured for her to sit down on the sofa.

"I had a panic attack today." She told her, sitting down. "And somehow I managed to calm myself without ending up in the hospital."

"That is an improvement. A big improvement you had in years. What happened?" she asked her.

"I was on a blind date with this guy I knew when we were kids. He and my parents had arranged for us to get married when we got older. I was leaving the restaurant when a balloon popped." She lied a little to improvise the story. "And then the usual happened. I couldn't breathe properly, I had loud ringing in my ear and i collapsed to my knees but then he held me and somehow i calmed down."

"Maybe this man is your cure. Did you feel relaxed with him?" she asked her.

"Not that much. I felt more relaxed with his brother." She told her.

Lisa raised an eyebrow at her.

"I met him on my way here." She told her.

"I see. Then maybe it was something else that made you feel relaxed. Maybe his smell? Do you remember anything distinctive when he was near you?" Lisa suggested.

She took a slight sharp breath in and looked at the ceiling, remembering it.

"I remember… having this feeling that I knew him… for a very long, long time. Like the way he held me, the way he smelled and the way he sounded. And that is weird because I forgot everything about him." She told her.

"Plum, sometimes even though we forget certain things, our body tends to remember the way it felt. Maybe it was your body subconsciously feeling relaxed with him." Lisa told him.

"I don't know. It all feels so weird." She told her.

"Well, I know one thing for sure. He made an improvement in your panic attack." Lisa told her. "Try spending more time with him and then we can see if he was the cause or something else."

"Dr. Stone, he is going to be my husband. I will be with him for most of the time." She told her.

They talked for a little while longer before her time was up.
