In the darkest night under the fervent gale, a lone rabbit gasped as the mammoth door to the mountain temple yawned, accepting the rabbit's presence.
Thus, entered the rabbit with a brave torch and firm feet, passing through multiple braziers colored by prismic flames that were ever changing.
"This is the place…"
She walked further forward. The silhouette on the other side of the eerie temple began to shine its true outline. As if expecting this uninvited guest, the almighty spirit of this long forgotten temple emerged from its rest, echoing its voice to the mossy temple.
"Mmm?"
The presence of the almighty spirit was enough to shake the very foundation of the rabbit's heart, as she planted her palm on the ground, stabilizing her heart to face the vivid power.
"I have come to bargain with you!"
"Eh? Sure, sure."
Once again, the very founding echos emanating from the almighty spirit began to prod the rabbit's soul and heart for sins and guilt.
"My kind! It's a humble race that bore ingenuity and adaptability, abolishing any hurdles and potential disaster that's coming in our way," the rabbit preached with all her heart. "But the future is fickle, and they won't wait for my people to grow and flourish before reality passes its hammer of judgment into any unforeseen family!"
"Mm, mm." The almighty spirit appeared to be confused, but it headbanged up and down in confirmation regardless of the message that the rabbit was trying to convey. "Continue. explanation."
"You see, almighty spirit…"
"Almighty spirit??"
"In our veins are the wisdom and knowledge of our founding god-emperor! Through him, we carry the humanity that resides inside of us!"
"Eh?"
"So I implored myself to develop humanity's greatest spear."
"Uhuh."
"But for all its greatness, our civilization must flourish far away from our neolithic control and mother nature." Out of nowhere, the rabbit took out a large chemical schematic of gunpowder, from the process of mixing each ingredient, to the schematic of machinery and contraption needed to fully utilize it at its best. "But just as you see, we need a lot of this magical powder, but to ensure that this magical powder is able to be honed by the finest rabbits of my kingdom, we need a large quantity of it."
"I see, I see." The almighty spirit headbanged aggressively once again, giving confirmation to the rabbit even though it doesn't understand everything she was saying.
"And thus, for the sake of technological revolution, I'm here to sell my-" The rabbit then rummaged her pocket, before taking out a photorealistic mini-figurine of the patriarch made out of wood, meticulously down to every detail and wrinkle on his outfit. "-masterpiece of a craftsmanship that I cherished after beating Juani in his own game, but that's beside the point… I shall be sacrificing this sacred relic of mine for the sake of Usamanity's prosperity and future!" preached the rabbit with tears of pride racing down her cheeks.
"Uhm, accepted?" The almighty spirit still didn't know what was happening but the idea of possessing a high quality figurine of an admirable person is something that won't happen everyday.
"And thus, I have secured the devilish deal with the almighty spirit." Droste puffed her chest with prideful jubilation in front of many usalians that were present to hear the tale of her infamous creation.
""Woaah!"" The crowd could only clap as they too, didn't really understand what the tale was about.
'"In other words, you asked Miss Kuri's help in exchange for the figurine from the carving competition that we held a couple of days ago," Juani said with a cross-popping veins on the side of her forehead.
"That's basically what I said."
"So." An Usalian named Vainya sheepishly raised her hand. "What makes the gun able to shoot continuously without gunpowder on the ammunition cartridge? Isn't that just straight up magic."
"Fufufu, the vital component actually lies inside the gun itself."
As of currently, the mock ammunition that were used in the shooting range for firing the DP-101 rifle is merely a reinforced piece of wood with a pointy end to lessen the drag and a caved end for the pressure of the gunpowder to push the wood bullet with much accuracy.
But how come there was a periodic gunpowder explosion whenever the trigger was pulled even though there was no gunpowder on the ammunition itself like the modern ammo?
"Or to be precise lies within this beauty." Droste pulled out a grainy black crystal-shaped object the size of her palm out of her leather belt pouch, holstered on her waist. "When the gunpowder is ignited, the combustion converts less than half the mass of gunpowder to gas; most of it turns into particulate matter. Some of it is ejected, wasting propelling power, fouling the air, and generally being a nuisance.
"But with Miss Kuri's power of blessing soul-based matter manipulation, our kingdom is able to mold and bind the smokeless gunpowder into a semi-solid that would give the same reaction as in its original state, while fusing the soul aspects of individual gunpowder grain into one." The crystal was right in front of her right eye, held in between the gloved thumb and index fingers. "Before bestowing it the power of Ouroboros' might, allowing this gunpowder crystal to regenerate by rewinding all of the binded gunpowder's particulate matter back into the former state, making it to be reusable indefinitely as long as the blessing is intact."
""Woaah!!"" The crowd once again cheered and clapped, even though most of them didn't even understand a single word that Droste was saying.
"Not to mention, after transferring our knowledge of the combustion reaction to the priest of nezura, the strength of the explosion and its concentration can be adjusted like a slider." A satisfied grin was etched on Droste's face. "Courtesy from Miss Kuri, we name this powerful conceptual invention of the kingdom as the Reversible Anamnesis Reactor, or RAR for short."
