Ezra's Story Part III
Months passed, and Gabrielle's life hasn't changed; studying during the day and training with her father in the afternoon. Everything was normal until one day at lunch, an announcement her parents made turned her world upside down.
"Gabby, sweety. Your mother and I have something important to tell you," began her father, and the little girl, still chewing her food, looked up at him waiting for the news. "You're going to become a big sister!" He beamed.
Without reacting and with a stern face, she questioned, "What does that mean?"
"It means that I'm pregnant and we're going to have a second child," clarified her mother.
"Why?" asked Gabrielle, frowning.
"What do you mean, why?" retorted the woman with a hint of irritation.
"Why would you need a second child? I don't want it."
"It's not up to you to decide, Gabrielle. You take the news and shut up," she ended firmly.
