Chapter 24

"3…2…1… Match Start!"

The rules are simple, knock out your enemy or throw them outside of the stage, the other team will win, Ryu and Masao charged towards their respective opponents which they had decided earlier, Ryu faced off with Aika while Masao faced off with the handsome golden kid.

(Masao POV)

Masao and the guy looked at each other, "What is your name?" Masao asked, but he only got a glare and nothing else, "My, my, how unfriendly, then I will call you goldy for now," Masao said, he then raised his Katana and blocked the incoming attack which could not be seen by naked eye.

*Clang!

Sparks flew from the collision of their swords, Masao felt a force from the attack and he smiled, 'He is strong,' he thought, Goldy sent multiple slashes and stabs towards Masao which he only blocked and dodged, their fight was so fierce that the stage beneath them was full of cuts and holes.

Goldy noticed how Masao played with him, he gripped his sword tightly and he suddenly disappeared from his position reappearing behind Masao, he then raised his sword and slashed it towards Masao.

*Clang!

A sword blocked his attack, he saw Masao not even looking behind as he used his Katana to block the attack, Masao turned his body in a very fast speed and used the end of the hilt of his sword to stab it towards Goldy's stomach, Goldy was too late to react and so the attack hit him and sent him flying.

Goldy rolled on the air and landing on the ground with his feet, he put his hands on his stomach as he felt pain, he clenched his teeth and glared at Masao, he then grabbed his sword and swiped the blade with his hands, a golden light came out from Goldy's hands as it made contact with the sword.

[Sharpening]

He casted a biff spell on his sword, [Sharpening] is a spell that would sharpen the sword that it could easily cut the metal like it was a hot knife slicing through butter, Goldy's sword glowed as the buff had been casted, Masao kept his usual and his katana had never been sheathed since earlier.

Goldy immediately charged towards Masao and sent multiple slashes in a very fast speed, Masao calmly dodged and blocked the attacks, and the ground beneath them was getting destroyed as much deeper cuts started to appear on the ground.

On the other side of the field, Ryu was clearly playing with Aika as he only blocked her attacks and would sometimes send a small harmless fire to disrupt her momentum, he would even glance at the other fight and whistle from amazement, he had already activated his skills earlier and he was stea- ahem, learning so much moves from them.

Aika got frustrated from their fight as Ryu had not even taken care of her, he didn't even give a crap towards her, she got so infatuated that she just kept spamming spells towards him relentlessly.

The fight of Masao and Goldy had taken its climax, as Goldy's attack became faster and faster that Masao needed to counter attacks from his own, but Goldy had never seen Masao unsheathe his katana, Masao was using the scabbard to block, deflect and counter Goldy.

Goldy became determined and started using different kinds of spells, from wind blades to fire spells, everything on his arsenal, he had already forgotten about winning but to only make Masao unsheathe his sword, he already knew he was unmatched with this guy but his pride won't let him go back from this fight.

Masao and Goldy's swords collided against each other and the collision caused a shock wave to blow away everything around them, even Ryu and Aika were not spared, "Just who is the main character here?" Ryu complained.

"I can hear you!" Masao yelled towards him as he continued fighting with Goldy, to be honest he was impressed, he is strong but too many mistakes could be seen, Masao sighed and struck his sword towards Goldy which made him back away, he was now panting heavily from their exchange.

He was bathed in sweat and bruises could be seen some on his body, he was hit from the counter that Masao sent, he had already ignored defense and went on all-out attack but Masao was able to deflect all of them.

He then raised his head and looked at Masao who didn't even break a sweat from their exchange, he was standing tall and his sword hanging on his waist, Masao had his usual smile as he put his hand on the hilt of his katana, Masao then slowly pulled his sword.

*Tremble!

The place started to tremble as Masao pulled out his sword, a dark and scary aura came out from the sword, the trembling became stronger and stronger as Masao pulled out the Katana from its sheath, Goldy felt fear, fear from the depths of his heart, an illusion was shown on his mind, a figure, a gigantic figure.

Goldy who was put in an illusion lost all of the strength on his legs and plopped down on the ground, Masao sheathed back his sword which was only half way through, the trembling stopped and the dark and scary aura vanished.

"The match has ended! Ryu and Masao win!" the announcer yelled, Masao turned his head and saw Ryu had already taken care of Aika, he gave him a victory sign with a big smile.
