Rewards

"Ehh... I didn't expect to suddenly disappear..." Draco complained, feeling weakness throughout his body. This time there were no flashy portals or anything. He simply vanished.

It felt as though Draco had spun around in circles at extreme speeds.

Nauseating to say the least.

"What's this smell?"

While Draco was recovering, a rustic scent lingered in the air, invading his nostrils. Lifting his head up, his eyes soon paused on an enormous ancient door that stood opposite him.

The more he stared at the door, the more majestic did it feel to him

He also noticed words carved above the door.

[Vinland Saga]

Once Draco read those words in his mind, a screen popped out of nowhere, startling him a bit. Barely a moment later, he was already reading through it.

[The reward will be based on your performance]

[You can only choose one reward or else you would be stuck in this place for eternity]

As if responding to his thoughts, the screen suddenly turned into a speck of light, which traveled forth.

With a small clicking sound, once the light hit against the doors, a soft rumble sounded and the ground trembled.

With a small bang, the sides of the door smashed against the walls, enabling Draco to see what was on the other side of the door.

"…ah."

No words could describe what Draco felt when he caught a glimpse of what stood behind the door.

Draco was left speechless as his eyes glimmered.

The entire room was white, devoid of any color, except for the black screens floating in the air before him. They were all depicting treasures from which he could choose one of them.

His heart slowly sped up as he read through all of them.

Barely ten minutes later, Draco had already gone through everything and was currently deciding which one should he choose. Much to his surprise, most of the rewards were skills.

There were also a few martial techniques, but they didn't seem too good.

Skills, on the other hand, piqued his interest. In his world, at least, they were extremely valuable as even [G] rank ones were worth millions. Even those rich kids from his academy couldn't afford skills, except for a few.

It wasn't without a reason, of course.

Skills were usually found in dungeons or hidden in some other natural wonders, but no one how did they actually form. Not like many cared. Skills didn't need to be practiced or trained, as they were already at their fullest potential, and that boosted one's power by a significant margin.

"Considering that I finished this quest pretty easily, the rewards are quite good," Draco said, once again looking at the rewards. There were at least twenty black screens, but only two of them caught Draco's attention the most.

[Askeladd's Inteligence] and [Berserker]

The former provided a boost in intelligence stat for a certain period, while the latter provided a significant boost in strength for a certain period. It was hard to choose, but Draco decided on [Berserker] in the end.

His intelligence wasn't too bad, but he was still lacking in strength. Besides, [Berserker] could save his life in desperate situations.

"Let's see." Draco tapped on the black as it vanished into thin air. Then Draco felt a euphoric feeling overwhelm him for a few seconds before eventually ending.

Before he could check his status or anything, he once again felt this strange feeling within his stomach, as if his inside were rotating. He closed his eyes and the next thing he knew; he was already back in his apartment room.

"Well, that was quicker than I thought," Draco muttered, promptly checking the time. As expected, only half a day has passed, and it was currently 2 A.M. The next thing Draco did was open his status screen.

=Status End=

"So, I really got the reward." A smile formed on Draco's face as it turned even brighter upon seeing the improvement in his power. Strength and Stamina had risen by one low rank, which was actually quite surprising considering his talent.

Over than that, Draco was quite disappointed that he could only use [World Travel] after a month. Though it wasn't such a surprise since this skill was incredibly powerful.

"Berserker." Draco activated the skill as power surged through his body. Veins popped out all over his skin, and his eyes turned red. Draco clenched his fists, heavy breaths escaping from his mouth, which resembled those of a ferocious beast.

'Incredible.' Draco thought.

By using this skill, he had basically increased his rank by two lower ranks. Even though that was only temporary, it was still nothing short of incredible. A lot of guilds would be probably salivating over this skill.

'I can't use [Berserker] for too long though, since it drains a lot of mana.' Draco deactivated the skill, grabbing onto the bed frame for some support. 'Still, this skill will only get more powerful in the future, as my mana capacity grows.'

Draco spent some more time analyzing his status before falling onto the bed to get some rest. He was drained of energy since he always needed to be on the tip of his toes when completing the mission.

'I still can't believe it.' Draco thought, burying his head into the pillow. All of it still felt so surreal. He really was back in the past, long before the stronger demons descended on the planet. Draco's face turned into a frown as depressing memories flooded his mind, a deadly aura surrounding his body.

'I should calm down and get some rest first.' Draco closed his eyes.

He knew full well that useless emotions didn't bring any good.

Anyway.

Tomorrow was going to be a long day.

He was going to snatch that treasure from those Union bastards.
