Arc 1-chapter 4-the joy of evolution

_a giant mantis charging on him , waking him up, he didnt know where he was or what brought him here but he knew he would've died if he didn't fight that monster . He realized he had nothing but his bare hands and a pair of shorts so he had to do what he could. Started grabbing the monster by the arms but it bit him with his jaw apparatus . He was about to let out a scream but he had the feeling he could attract other monsters so he just decided to endure it as much as he could_

_the mantis let loose of the bite and since he was blocking his arms he decided to use the only thing he had left:theeth. He had no idea if it could work but trying is better than dying -strap- he bit off the entire neck of the mantis and started eating its dead body as in an automatic mechanism _

_ he heard a voice which he didn't know the language of but could still understand and after it said these words a sort of olographic "screen" appeared in front of him showing him the skills (passive and active) and stats (strength, resistance, ue, intelligence and agility) he clicked on agility because the word looked fancy (i don't know what to say honestly but fair enough i guess) and another screen pops up_

_he felt lighter , really lighter , but didn't really know anything to compare the feeling to. He basically thought "me feel faster" and that's basically it_

_those were the options in the skill part of the catalog, he then chose the middle one after trying to see if he could move the screen away , And to him he did_

_he felt his legs really bouncy for some reason,had no idea why , but he was really happy and played a bit of bouncing while standing like a toddler who just found a new toy_

_two more mantises appeared but this time he jumperd on them and bit their neck off almost instantaneously and again_

_this time he could inly choose between the abilities. he tapped the 1st one , the screen didn't disappear, however after the 2nd time it did _

_he felt something strange in his forearms as if he contracted a specific part something would've happened. In fact when he did literal claws made out of shaperened bone just popped up from his forearms, approximately 45 cm long _

_the claws became pointed towards him intead of being curved , they became straighter (and sharper but he has no idea what it means) . And of course he took time to play with them making them go in and out as well._

_the first actual thought made by him . Which is actually just a necessity but come on give him some space . After walking in a straight line for a while he came to a bigger cave which had some shining crystals which made it shinier and fortunately an underground lake (convinent, awfully convenient) . After taking a huge slurp of that fresh water he was really relieved _

_behind him something was growling , when he turned he saw a wolf cub with glowing fur tips and tail (mutated one so to speak, glowing as in made of crystal) . He tried to get closer but suddenly a giant mouthed over-sized komodo dragon jumps out of nowhere and eats it and starts pointing towards him_

_he was actually crying for some reason. He extracted the claws and jumped towards the big lizard

And succeeds to land a hit blinding him completely, by paying the price of losing an arm . This time he screamed to the top of his lungs out of rage and pain and started butchering the other animal , and after killing it started eating it . To his surprise when he started eating the stomach area he found that the cub was alive and had just lost a leg. After eating all of the reptile he realized he had an arm again . _

_the poor wolf started crying a bit for the pain and he decided to pick him up and go to the lake to wash off any infection but when he touched him_

_he understood what that meant this time and pressed yes . The pup regenerated the lost leg and grew up a bit , now the size of your average wolf dog_

_not that useful of an ability if you ask me , but still a quality of life one . He then approaches the lake again to test the same ability he just obtained. This time however he stops in horror :Theres another man in the lake!

The man has grey hair is very tall and has almost ice colored eyes , not wearing anything and really skinny ,as if he hadn't eaten for a quite long time. After trying to kill the man a few times and seeing how similar he moves , he realized that the man is just his reflection, and therefore that it's him_
