Chapter 6

After separating ways from both her cousins, she instantly bumped into one of the people who despises her the most. She came face to face with Choi Rui-- the reason why Wang Jian's now under a potion's control. Apparently, she was the one who blocked Li Xiu's feet, causing her to stumble down and Wang Jian miraculously catching her, accidentally inhaling the scented rose in the process.

Choi Rui was not alone as she glared at her form. With a scowl, "you disgusting pig! what did you do to Wang Jian!?"

Her sidekicks were also present. At that moment, Li Xiu realized just how childish they must have looked right now. It's like they have returned to their middle school days. Girls indulging violence due to a male-- though it's probably understandable due to that 'male' being the one and only student council president of the school.

"Tell me Ms. Shy, what were the formula of the potion you've used? You witch!"

Li Xiu bit her lip, almost flinching due to the opposite girl's accurancy despite not really knowing the truth. It was obvious Choi Rui did not mean what she had just blurted out, she did not really understood the truthness of it but if she did, Li Xiu would end up being expelled for bringing harm upon another student.

"I-I'm sorry. It was an accident," Li Xie did not lie. She limited her words to simple apologies hoping it would dispel the girls' unreasonable rage.

"Tsk. You must have seduced him with that innocent facade of yours," an unnamed brunette added. The others nodded with her, "right, now that I think about it, you were probably just pretending to be all shy and gentle just for Wang Jian to notice you."

Li Xiu couldn't help but frown. Did they really think she would stoop to something that petty just to conquer someone's heart? Well, she condescended to using a love potion but hiding under a mask and pretending is just too low and tiring. Shaking her head, "of course not, I'm telling you, I like someone else!" she insisted.

"Shut up! Reasons, reasons! I hate you!" And then, abruptly, she charged forward. The action startled Li Xiu for Choi Rui never really went for a physical attack but right before Choi Rui's hand landed on her cheek, she swiftly pivoted her ankles and moved to the side. This caused the enraged girl to fall forward, face straight to the hard, marble floor.

A series of gasps and snickers were heard. Li Xiu only now noticed the crowd starting to gather around them and she couldn't help but feel the redness that creep onto her whole face. How did a simple situation escalated this quickly?

She suddenly felt dizzy. 'Oh no, this is bad. If this keeps up, I'm going to be late!' She worriedly thought.

"How dare you dodge me!" Came a shout, and another attempt to attack. Like before, she avoided the assault flawlessly. Li Xiu wanted to tear up hearing her shouts. What was she supposed to do then? Get hit and be reprimanded by her grandfather and cousins? Being called a weak Li who can't even defend herself? She certainly didn't want that.

She let out a breath, "p-please Choi Rui, calm down. I swear, Wang Jian's not my b-b-boyfriend, there's nothing going on between us." She tried again, smoothly avoiding Choi Rui's arm. Ah. Her face was burning. Saying those words was so embarrasing. She hoped she could just get out of there, get away from the animal-like girl chasing her around and the crowd cheering like nothing's wrong at all.

'Where even are the teachers!? How frustrating!' She complained. Her soothing voice was left unheard as it was drowned by the spectators' cheers. She couldn't get through Choi Rui at all!

Choi Rui was humiliated, and even if she wants to stop this unnecessary farce, her pride's not letting her. And so, she kept trying to hit Li Xie. Inside she's dying with shame. Who would have known that the famous shy girl has such a nimble body! This is utterly ridiculous! and degrading!

The chasing felt like it went on for hours but it only took three minutes. And it was finally put onto a hold when Li Xiu firmly gripped her wrist. Choi Rui had no way of escaping once she realized just how tight Li Xiu's hold on her hand was. 'Unacceptable! How is she this strong!' Choi Rui internally screamed.

With blinking eyes, Li Xie asked a random guy what time it is already-- she was slightly panicking and it left the audience speechless. How could she be worried about being late at a time like this? They wondered.

"Two minutes before first classes begin, guess you better hurry up," the guy answered nonchalantly, "finish up this cat fight so we can all go," he added, not really caring if he himself will end up late or not.

Li Xiu only managed to comprehend the words 'two minutes' before rushing off towards the direction of her class, "I-I apologize! I need to go!" she frantically yelled before drifting away, leaving a bunch of disappointed students, and an enraged, embarrased Choi Rui.
