As soon as this question left her lips, Avery regretted it immediately. She didn't know what possessed her to pose this question to him!
And it's not that she didn't think before she asked him.
After all, Aidan's actions these past few days towards her were too suspicious, causing her to have some belief that the man in front of her could be the father of the child inside her womb.
Silence soon descended upon the room.
After a full minute of only the sound of their breathing and the soft hum coming from the air conditioner, Aidan asked,
"What if I am? What if I'm not?"
"Huh?"
"Will you turn away from me if I'm not the father of your child?" Aidan's question made her heart skip a beat.
Avery was stunned for a second, waving her hand and said, "Of course not!"
Aidan was the only person who helped her unconditionally. He had many chances to leave her alone yet; he didn't let her be.
