CH 04: A DAY OFF

"dang... Dang... Dang"

My alarm blared loudly, dragging me out of sleep and into the realm of the waking world. With a groan, I smacked the snooze button and rubbed the sleep from my eyes.

"It's morning already" I said as I stood up and shuffled into the kitchen, my mind still fuzzy with sleep. The promise of a steaming cup of coffee beckoned, a lifeline in the early hours of the morning. I take coffee every morning and this is already part of my daily routine.As I waited for the coffee to brew, I couldn't help but think about the craziness of the day before – the CEO's wild proposition and the whirlwind of emotions that followed.

"Huhhhh.... Could I ever this off my head... So demanding and daring" I scoffed

But today was different. Today , I have decided to give my self a day off, a chance to escape the monotony of routine and dive headfirst into the unknown. With a grin, I poured myself a cup of coffee and took a long sip, relishing the warmth that spread through me.

"So thoughtful of the Great CEO to consider his dilligent worker" I said as I remembered how Ms. Sarah gave me the blue card and a contract of salary increase. Oh my God, I hurriedly signed that contract without glancing twice.

"Woow... Is this the perks that comes from being beautiful" I said playfully laughing at myself. After taking my coffee, I went into bathroom to have my bath.

Dressed in my favorite sundress – the one with the funky floral pattern that always made me feel like a rockstar – I headed out the door, ready to tackle whatever the day had in store.

"A special treat will do... I deserve all that after how many years of working dilligently with no days off.

The bustling streets of the city greeted me as I made my way to a quirky little restaurant I'd been dying to try. The smell of freshly baked bread and sizzling bacon filled the air, heightening my anticipation.

As I slid into a booth, I couldn't help but notice a cute guy sitting at the bar, his eyes flicking in my direction every now and then. My heart skipped a beat as he made his way over, a confident grin plastered on his face.

"Mind if I join you?" he asked, his voice smooth and charming.

I felt a flush rise to my cheeks as I nodded, trying to play it cool. "Sure, why not?" I replied, attempting to sound nonchalant.

As the guy sat down at the table, a warm smile gracing his features, I felt a flutter of anticipation in my chest. "Thank you for letting me join you," he said, his voice friendly and inviting.

I returned his smile, feeling a sense of ease wash over me. "Of course, it's no problem," I replied, gesturing to the empty seat across from me. "Please, have a seat."

With a grateful nod, the guy settled into the chair, his eyes meeting mine with a curious gleam. "By the way, I'm Alex," he said, extending a hand across the table.

I shook his hand firmly, feeling a jolt of excitement at the contact. "Nice to meet you, Alex," I replied, my voice tinged with excitement. "I'm Elena."

Alex's smile widened, a mischievous glint dancing in his eyes. "And just so you know, I'm actually the CEO of Modelo pose," he added, a note of amusement in his voice.

My eyes widened in surprise at his revelation. "Really?....the same Modelo pose" I exclaimed, unable to hide my astonishment.

Alex nodded, his expression playful. "Yep, that's me," he replied, a hint of pride in his tone. Modelo pose is a company that helps models , they are a middleman between models and their clients.

"That's really nice... I work at Sterling Enterprise" I said softly

"Wow... The largest company in the country, beautiful job for a beautiful lady" he said and I couldn't help but smile . He was then staring at me continuously and he finally blurted out

" I must have hit the jackpot in my previous life to meet a beautiful girl like you," Alex exclaimed, a playful twinkle in his eyes.

I couldn't help but grin at his remark, feeling a warm blush creep into my cheeks. Thank you," I replied, unable to suppress the flutter of excitement in my chest.

As our laughter subsided, Alex's expression shifted to one of curiosity. "So, Elena, are you not supposed to be at work today?" he asked, a hint of concern in his voice.

I shook my head, a grin spreading across my face. "Actually, no. I have the day off," I replied, a sense of liberation coursing through me.

Alex raised an eyebrow, surprised by my response. "A day off, huh? Well, I'm glad fate brought us together," he said, a playful smirk tugging at the corners of his lips.

I chuckled, feeling a sense of camaraderie with Alex.a twinkle of excitement in my eyes.

With a charming smile, Alex signaled for the waitress to approach our table. As she arrived, he turned to me with a playful gleam in his eyes.

"Let's make this day even better with some delicious food," he said, his voice laced with excitement.

I nodded eagerly, my stomach rumbling at the thought of a satisfying meal. "Sounds like a plan," I replied, a grin spreading across my face.

Turning his attention back to the waitress, Alex placed an order for both of us, his confidence and charisma evident in every word. As he rattled off our selections, I couldn't help but admire his easygoing demeanor and natural charm.

With the order placed, we settled back into our conversation, the anticipation of the meal adding an extra spark to our already lively exchange. And we waited for our food to arrive.
