Chapter 4

“Ross Haven, Bachelor of Science in Finance, summa cum laude.” Polite applause accompanied me as I walked forward and shook hands with the dean, took my diploma from him with a bright smile and a “thank you.” I moved the tassel from one side to the other, and walked the rest of the way across the platform. I looked out over the crowd but didn’t see Rhys.

Once the ceremony was over, I took off my hat and gown and walked slowly to the bus stop, a list in my head of the things I needed to get for my new bachelor pad. What was I going to eat tonight? I needed to text my new address to Rhys.

“Ross!” Speak of the devil. I glanced up in happy surprise to see Rhys running up to me, his lanky legs rapidly eating up the distance between us. I laughed out loud.

“Oh, man, it’s good to see you!” I hugged him hard then moved back a little. “Were you there the whole time? I didn’t see you—”
