By the seventh day he woke up feeling his normal self again and knew instinctively that his sickness was gone for now.
To his surprise he wasn't alone in the bed, he turned to see Kaoma fast asleep beside him.
At first he was puzzled why she would be in his bed in the first place.
Then Maxixe recalled that he had been out of his mind with delirium from the fever.
He didn't remember calling for Kaoma but it seemed she came to attend to him while he was sick.
Never one to rely on people a lot, he was not sure how he felt about that but it was obvious to him that she had taken great care of him.
Expended so much of her own time and energy to nurse him back to recovery.
She fed him a tonic that she made herself, and nothing could reach his lips unless she tasted it herself.
He recalled getting mostly vegetable broth until he graduated to thick and hearty chicken soup.
