Keiko

The estimated final day of preparation for the reluctant Zayama leader began with a yawn and a rub of her eyes. She sat up on her bed, with Ash still sleeping soundly next to her, and her bedsheet sliding off of her bare chest as she stretched her arms.

Immediately as she awoke, she thought to herself:

Tomorrow might be the day...

With this thought going through her mind, and the image of the portal outside of the city burned in her eyes, Keiko got off the bed. She put on a shirt and stared at her father's sword, resting by the side of the bed a short distance away. It was a reminder of the family she'd been born into, but unlike her grandmother, this served to encourage rather than make her skin boil the way seeing that woman did.

"It's too fucking early," Keiko heard Ash complain from the bed and the girl chuckled.

"Rise and shine."
