Lair

Dragons, such majestic and very powerful creatures that gods had to band together and prevent their rise. In every culture, they are seen as the ultimate power, beings that will cause disasters everywhere they went. What makes them more fearsome is their love for treasures. Kingdoms and Empires have been ruined because a dragon had senses their hoarde of gold, silver and diamonds and it was actually the reason why they introduces paper money!

However, for all their overwhelming power, dragons find it very hard to produce pure blooded dragons. A female dragon would lay a dozen eggs and in each dozen, the rate of a pure blooded dragons being present is just three percent. The rest are just Wyrmlings, a derogatory term used to mean dragon failures. They range from Wyverns, Wyrms and Syrms. Wyverns have wings where their front limbs should be, Wyrms live underground and Syrms are most comfortable on the surface. What they all have in common is that they do not have the overwhelming power their parents have or their magic. But, any of them born from dragons are much more powerful than born from each other.

Now, I myself was born from the dozen in which eleven eggs were Wyrmlings and one a pure breed dragon, a pasty white little shit that looked down on all of us. I know the rest of my siblings were too stupid and too afraid to even know but the little bastard knew and acted like he was better than us. Sure, he might be but I was a reincarnated person and my cheat was just too powerful that the bloodline suppression he was emitting wasn't even a problem.

A dragon mother usually doesn't stay till the eggs are hatched because of thousands of years of failure ingrained deep in their DNA, but our mother was a first time mother and was patient. She had stayed till we hatched and probably because she was happy of her success, she had fed us quite nicely; of course the bigger portions were going to her precious child.

"RWAAAR!" a fellow wyvern tried to intimidate me when I went to rip through a mountain goat mother had brought. The little thing didn't even know how cute he looked rather than being intimidating. I felt bad for the winged slap I gave him which made him whimper back to our mother full of grievances. Mother looked at me with a thoughtful look before consoling the little one while I engorged in a well done mountain goat.

For two years, we stayed with mother till she decided we runts are not welcome any more. I knew this day was coming, of course it was coming. No matter how patient she was, she was a dragon and her precious pure breed off spring would always come first. We were just a hindrance in his development and she wouldn't want that. So, we were thrown off the mountain, not caring if we lived or not.

I knew my Syrms and Wyrm brothers and sisters wouldn't survive so I used my power to levitate them to the ground. My power, Montifrey, or rather reality manipulation using thoughts, made me a being above gods. I could make this universe turn into a peanut with just a thought, that kind of powerful. Once we were on the ground, my siblings looked at me with complicated looks before they took off, to each their own. I was alone for the first time in two years.

As a two years old wyvern, I was as big as an adult bull. The only arsenal I would have would have been my strength, durabilit, agility and fire breathing magic. But, I could change that with just a thought which I did my giving myself the ability to manipulate ice and winds to absolute levels. Second, I aged myself to my adult form which made me as big as a six storeyed building. My scales were hardened to diamonds, my claws sharpaned to razors and my teeth as sharp as swords. I let out a roar that shook the land before taking to the sky with a might gust of wind that blew trees away.

Flying felt amazing, more amazing than I actually imagined. Feeling the winds sliding down my streamlined body, feeling the coolness with my scales and feeling it leave the tips of my tail, it felt like a soothing full body massage. To celebrate, I let out another jubilant roar before cracking my tail like a whip, increasing my speed to supersonic, a Sonic boom left behind as my speed kept on increasing.

I spent an entire day just flying in blitzing speeds till I felt satisfied. When I landed on a mountain top, I was feeling relaxed and quite ready to go on a marathon. It felt like the air was where I belonged and I didn't disagree. I was at home while I was flying, it felt amazing. But, another purpose of my flying was exploring the topography. I wanted to know the lay of the land and I was glad to do so. This was a high fantasy world with magic, magical creatures, elves, dwarves and all sorts of fantasy creatures! It was borderline Xinxia if it wasn't that magic couldn't do things Qi does, but it made magic users very OP at the long run. The mountain I had landed on belonged to a Kitchen that had terrorized the lands centuries ago, its amazing what widescaled telepathy could do.

BANG!

My tail slammed on the mountain, shaking it to the core. I had reinforced my body to a point that even Superman would sweat if he had to fight me. I knew the hidden cave system in the mountain was experiencing disasters due to this with boulders and rocks crushing and destroying any undead in it.

"WHO DARES!" a mighty voice came from the mountain. A side of it exploded outside and a Litch walked out, his aura showing how enraged he was. His flame eyes immediately zeroes in on me and his anger grew even more.

"You! A wretched mistake dares to come to my mountain and wake me from my slumber!" he roared as he pointed at me with his staff. He blasted me with death magic which would immediately cut off my life force while binding my undying soul to be his thrall. But, not to day! With a wave of my tail, a blast of wind powerful enough to turn a mountain range into a plain was blasted towards him. Air and the death beam hit and an explosion that broke apart the mountain occured.

I took to the sky with a roar as the Litch resulted to using a spell to fly too while dodging debris. Once high in the sky, I opened my maw as a ball of concentrated flames formed above my turn. Like a Kamehameha beam, I kept on charging till the flame was so concentrated it turned white due to the heat. Meanwhile, I was tracking the Litch's every movement and just when he relaxed after dodging all the debris, I fired. So great was the speed and power that a ring was formed surrounding the beam of fire. The Litch looked up in surprise feeling the heat and if he had brows, they would have risen in shock and fear. The beam of fire slammed into him, turning him into ashes almost instantly. It went on unperturbed and hit the ground.

KRAKABOOM!

A kin to a nuclear explosion, an explosion rocked the ground so much an earthquake off the Richter scale shook the lands followed by a shockwave that spread for miles upon miles, the fire burning everything to just a molten wasteland. If there were undead left behind, there would be no more for even the mountain was gone! Not for long though for a second later, the bare mountain was back, looking like it hadn't even been touched. I landed on top of it and let out a roar along with might flaps of my wings. The roar was to announce this would be my territory and the flapping of my wings was to spread my scent all over the mountain. This was my lair now!
