It had not wasted even a moment before it took back its hammer and attacked me with three times more power than before.

I moved my sword and defended against the attack, but that was just the beginning. As it attacked again and then again with greater strength.

I am fighting completely defensive; I want to investigate before taking any concrete action against it, and being defensive is the best strategy for that. It would keep it engaged without activating any serious functions inside it.

I know very little about flesh golems; some of the things I know is that even weak ones could bring out massive distractions. 

Many golems have self-destruction functions, which they activate if they have reached the end of a rope. Flesh golems might also do the same; after all, it is a golem.

So, I have to be very careful in fighting against it.
