Valentina couldn't help but look between Rowan, who was still on his knees, and Queen Dalikah, as they lock gazes. His, asking her question, waiting for her to give him a response and hers, giving nothing in return.
These people definitely had history.
She had called him Lowak, a name Valentina knew nothing about and Rowan had called the Queen by her name.
First name basis.
It seemed like they used to be close, really close.
Valentina bit the inside of her mouth, fighting the feeling that roused within her, pulling in the pit of her stomach.
It was envy. She was envious of whatever they shared, even though it seemed like it didn't exist anymore.
It was a confusing feeling but it was what she felt anyways.
The clicking of the Queen's heels as she turned up the stairs to go back to her throne snapped Valentina back to reality.
"Take them away."
Strong hands grabbed them quickly.
"Dalikah!"
