Grinding Dogs

Glitch stared at the blood flowing out of the dead dog, shivering in excitement. He flicked the blood off his sword to the ground and started laughing, "Haha, Welcome back bitch!" screaming, he rushed toward the other 3 dogs on the ground.

3 of them growled at him with red eyes. It was clear these dogs had lost their reasoning. Two of them launched on him at the same time.

He threw his sword straight at the head of the left dog. With a bone-screeching sound, the sword dug deep into the dog's head.

Creee!

-200 a critical short and 3rd dog died.

The fourth dog was almost within arm's reach from him when he pulled out 2nd big water tank and slammed on its head.

Bam!

The collision shook his both arms, veins popped all over his arms and the dog skull caved into its body.

-250 deep purple damage.

The last dog regained its sense and turned around, trying to run away. But Glitch stretched his body at it and grabbed one of its hind legs.

The dog tried to bite him, but he pulled it up in the air screaming, "Ahhh" and slammed it on the ground.

Boom!

Yip Yip!

The wild dog started whimpering. Not caring, he sat on its body and delivered the final blow to its head.

-10 -32 -14 -32.

Soon his hands strained in the blood, stopped and the last wild dog died.

Glitch looked at the battlefield and clicked his tongue. In excitement, he lost his reasoning and went a little too far, wasting a lot of his stamina.

He got up and walked to one of the water tanks. These low-level monsters did not even have the power to dent this tank. He opened the tank, took a few sips, and threw the rest of the water on the forest grounds.

After emptying the tank, he rushed to the dogs' dead bodies, scooped out some blood from each of their body, and placed it in his tank. He also pulled out their canines.

Once he was done, he waited for one minute next to the body and then the whole body disintegrate into pixels.

[Player Glitch earned 5 copper coins.]

This was a common method of loot, where the system gave a minimum reward to the players for their hunt. It was luck-dependent and ineffective compared to butchering, but he did not have that much time right now.

Even though 5 copper coins were not that much, it was still better than nothing.

In Universal Online, the lowest form of currency was copper coins. 100 copper coins would make 1 bronze coin. Then 100 bronze coins = 1 silver, and then there were gold, platinum, and diamond coins.

He placed both tanks in his inventory and once again started roaming around with a sword in hand, searching for his next target.

His luck was not that bad this time, and he met two small packs of dogs one after another. All of them met the same end, and he continued to collect their blood in one of his tanks along with their canines.

After that hunt, he took a rest of a few minutes to restore his stamina and even ate a few of the pieces of bread to not get hungry.

In Universal Online, the advanced game Ai even tracked stamina, hunger, and thirst.

While resting, he checked the trial time. "fck,1 hour already passed." He frowned at this as his method required him to collect the blood of 1000 creatures before the last phase of the trial.

In the next 21 hours, he needed to hunt more than 950 dogs, though he still had sufficient time, but the problem was the limited number of monsters.

In Universal Online, all the monsters were unique and there was no concept of monster revival. Before the last phase of the trial, every dead monster means one less monster in the forest.

He got up and rushed to kill as many monsters in the start as possible. He did not want to be in a situation where he would only have bigger monsters left to meet the quota.

For hours he continued to hunt, rest, sometimes went back to the village to sell canines to buy new swords, and then repeat.

5 hours into the trial, by this point, most players abandoned the outer area as they gained confidence and started going deeper into the forest.

Not caring about them, Glitch continued to grind.

Glitch killed his 400th dog, but his anxiety grew as the sun started to set. By the time he reached his 500th mark, darkness had engulfed the forest.

Forest became more dangerous in the dark. This forces many players to stop hunting as they do not want to die and decrease their rating.

Still, Glitch did not have to liberty to take the rest. At night, he changed his tactic. He stopped roaming in the forest and instead created a light zone with the help of a few torches.

In the night, wild dogs in the outer region became hyperactive and to attract them he started making sounds.

He even intentionally slowed down the killing process such that helpless dogs could be called other dogs.

Hours in the darkness, Glitch lost all his swords and started bashing dogs using water tanks. The surrounding forest became full of dogs barking, howling, and whimpering.

He even became famous among other players as the madman who loved to torture helpless dogs.

Even the darkness folded away, and dim morning light submerged the forest. By this time, Glitch almost lost all his reasoning. He once again started roaming around the forest for his prey.

21 hours in trial and Glitch ripped his shirt and ran like a madman while barking. It was almost time for the next stage and he was still down the last 50.

But no matter how much he ran, he found no dogs. Not giving up, he entered the mid-area of wolves and hunting dogs.

10 minutes left until the start of the last phase of the trial. Glitch covered in red blood from head to toe, walked in the forest looking for his last prey.
