Chapter 7-The boy

a few hours later

Kelly starts to open her eyes and looks around to see that she's in her bedroom

Kelly sits up and places her hand on her head feeling bandages where her wound was previously

"hey you doing okay?" Sean says as he walks in the door

"did you do this" Kelly says taking her hand off the bandage

"yea is it feeling better" Sean asks sitting on the edge of the bed beside Kelly

Kelly just says silent for a moment

"why are you doing this?" Kelly asks looking down

"what do you mean?" Sean says with a confused look on his face

"you know who I am so why do you care about me?" Kelly says

Sean just stays silent and looks at the ground as he's thinking while Kelly continues to look down at her lap

"I'm not sure" Sean says still looking at the ground but with a slit smile on his face as Kelly's eyes widen

"but when I figure it out I'll tell you ok?" Sean says as he looks up at Kelly as Kelly raises her head to face Sean

"ok" Kelly says with a smile on her face as they both blush a little

"I should probably go check on the kid" Sean says as he stands up

"you get some rest for now and I'll come check on you later" Sean says as he walks towards the door

Sean opens the door and looks back at Kelly as she lays down

Sean walks out the door

the next day

Kelly walks out to the living room and sees the boy sitting on the couch watching tv

"your late for school you know" The boy says with a cocky smile on his face and continues to watch tv

"so are you so what's your point" Kelly asks

"no I'm not late I'm what you old people call skipping" the boy says as Kelly just gets an angry dumbfounded look on her face

"listen here you little brat who do you think your calling old hm?" Kelly says trying to keep her composure as she makes a fist

the kid stands up walks over and looks up at Kelly standing in front of her

"the old lady standing in front of me" the kid says looking up at Kelly

"oh you are so dead" Kelly says just as Sean walks in

Sean shoves a piece of toast in Kelly's mouth

"no killing the kid" Sean says looking at Kelly who grabs the piece of toast out of her mouth

Kelly glares at Sean as she watches him hand some toast to the kid

Kelly walks back to her room as she takes a bite out of her toast

a few minutes later

Kelly puts on her jacket just as the kid walks in to her room

Kelly looks over to the kid

"what do you want kid?" Kelly asks as she turns back around and puts on her hood

the kid runs up and hugs Kelly from behind catching her by surprise

Kelly's eyes widened in shock as she turns around to face the kid

the kid looks down at the ground with a sad look on his face as Kelly bends down onto her knees to face him

"hey are you feeling alright kid?" Kelly says as she puts her hand on his forehead

the kid mumbles something as Kelly takes her hand off his forehead

"what was that?" Kelly asks

"why did you give me up?" the boy says looking up at Kelly with tears starting to form in his eyes as Kelly's eyes widened in shock

Kelly looks down with a sad look on her face

"I'm sorry" Kelly mumbles quietly

the kid hears and tears start rolling down his face as his eyes widened in shock

Kelly stands up and grabs her mask and puts it on

she walks towards the door past the boy but as she passes the boy she puts her hand on his head

"stay with Sean until I come back" Kelly says as she continues to walk towards the door and heads out leaving the boy standing there in shock and in tears
