Chapter 52

"We need to discuss, Nell." Caleb said as he walked inside Nell's office.

"Is this about my security team's sad state?" Nell inquired.

"No, I'm having a lot of fun whipping them into shape." Caleb said, and Nell laughed.

"So, what were you hoping to discuss with me?" Nell inquired.

"It is all about Jacob." Nell stated.

"And how about him?" Nell inquired.

"He doesn't simply want to get rid of Kid Owl and Badger. I'm rather certain he intends to declare war on all vigilantes, including Dark Ox and Soul Sakura." Caleb stated.

"Wait a minute, what?" Nell inquired, assuming he'd misheard Caleb.

"Yeah, my exact sentiments, but when I faced Jacob after I quit, he all but confirmed that he considered Dark Ox and Soul Sakura were threats that needed to be dealt with, and I'm betting he wouldn't hesitate to take down these other heroes like the Fenrir or Monkey King." Caleb stated.

"And he expects this city to put its trust in him as he seeks to eliminate all of the world's heroes. What a charlatan." Nell stated.

"Yeah, I was thinking that because you probably have a method to reach them, you could let them know." Nell stated.

"I have a direct line to Soul Sakura; I'll notify her." Nell stated,

"Great. But, in any case, is there anything I can do to aid in that world?" Caleb inquired.

"Unless you know where Nichole is holding Ruby, no. Badger and I have exhausted every lead we can discover, but we have yet to find success." Nell stated.

"You'll track her down, Nell." Caleb stated.

"I certainly hope so. For so long, I assumed she was dead, and given the maniac Nichole has become, there's no telling what kind of shape she'll be in." Nell stated.

"At the very least, you know she's still alive. Nichole will keep her alive as a weapon against you." As a thought occurred to Nell, Caleb said.

"What? I recognize that expression. You have an idea." Caleb stated.

"What if Alice is faking it? So far, we've just taken her word for it, but as I mentioned, she's insane. She could simply be implying that she has Ruby to keep me in control." Nell stated.

"So you want to send a message to Nichole so she can prove it to you." Caleb spoke out, and Nell nodded.

"And that message can be utilized to track her down, and even if it doesn't, I'll know she's alive." Nell stated.

"I must say, that is a wonderful strategy." Caleb stated.

"Thank you; now go back to work." Caleb nodded as Nell walked out of the office, and Nell texted Robert and Chloe to meet her at the Owl Underground Headquarters.

"All right, what was so essential that you needed us to meet you here right now?" Chloe inquired.

"I think I have an idea for finding out where Nichole is keeping Ruby," Nell stated.

"How?" Robert inquired.

"We refer to her as bluff. Send a message to her through one of her minions requesting genuine, video proof that she has Ruby. Since she's not going to refuse a challenge from me, Robert, you can trace the conversation to at least give us a starting point." Nell stated.

"All right, let's do it." Robert nodded in accord as Chloe remarked.

"We'll start looking after work tonight." As Chloe went away, Nell remarked, and they both nodded in agreement, but Nell stopped Luke from following.

"How are you?" Robert inquired.

"Robert and Jacob are aware of Dark Ox and Soul Sakura, who are not yet completely acknowledged as a team. Microsoft X did not create the Junior X Warriors in this universe ", Nell remarked, clutching Robert's arm.

"How would he know that?" Robert wondered.

"I believe he is from the core world, and I believe he is one of the reasons this Verse has become perverted. He has no business being here. Microsoft X would not have sent him here if he didn't want to cooperate with me "Nell stated.

"So, Nell, what should we do? With everything else going on, we can't just try to take him down ", Robert stated.

"I'll come up with something, and I'll probably deal with this. I'll have to remove them all ", Nell remarked, gazing Robert in the eyes.

"Don't be concerned. I have your back. We'll all stop this together. We only need to get Chloe to go for a bit again ", Robert stated.

"Don't be concerned. I've had an idea "Nell stated.

"What are you going to do", asked Robert confused.

"One phone call is all that's needed to end this problem", said Nell.
